    Abstract: An example electronic device comprises a first portion including a display, a second portion, a hinge movably coupling the first portion to the second portion, and a flex-protection mechanism. The flex-protection mechanism includes a first magnetic component, a retractable bumper coupled to a second magnetic component, and a third magnetic component. In response to movement of the first portion between an open position and a closed position and magnetic interactions between the second magnetic component, the first magnetic component, and the third magnetic component, the retractable bumper moves between a retracted position and a protruded position.
