  • Patent number: 5118272
Abstract: Equipment includes a cavity former and a hot and cold water tank. The cavity former holds fiberglass strips part of which are inside the cavity and part outside. The cavity former also holds polystyrene beads which surround the fiber glass strips inside the cavity. The cavity former is placed inside of the tank and exposed to hot water. The beads expand against the cavity to form the handle and expand against the fiber glass strips to lock the same in the handle. The hot water is changed to cold and this lowers the temperature of the formed eraser which is then removed.

  • Patent number: 5094789
Abstract: Fiberglass strips are arranged in a desired pattern. Parts of the strips are outside of a cavity and parts are inside surrounded by a quantity of polystyrene beads. The temperature of the beads is raised. This causes the beads to expand against the cavity and form the handle and also to expand against the inside parts of the strips and exert pressure on same. The latter pressure locks the strips in the handle. The temperature of the handle is then lowered and the handle is removed from the cavity. The eraser is in ready condition for shipment without further working. The parts of the strips outside of the cavity are used for removing chalk and/or ink from a board.

  • Patent number: 4401845
Abstract: A jacketed electrical cable construction has low smoke and flame spread characteristics so that it is suitable for use in plenum air spaces in buildings with drop ceilings without the need for metal conduits. The cable includes a bundle of conductors which are insulated with poly(vinylidene fluoride), a wrapping of poly(tetrafluoroethylene) impregnated glass tape surrounding the bundle of conductors and a jacket of poly(vinylidene fluoride).

  • Patent number: 4104759
Abstract: A light weight, substantially rigid, C-shaped handle which independently holds three serially arranged individual erasers. A flexible foam strip is interposed between the handle and the individual erasers. Means are provided to maintain the erasers within the handle against the strip which allows the erasers to independently move in response to hand pressure.

  • Patent number: 4007509
Abstract: Blackboard eraser having a handle made of foamed plastic. Discreet rows of fiberglass filaments for cleaning off the chalk are secured to the bottom of the handle. Channels between the rows collect dust during the erasing operation so that the fibers don't clog. Preferably, the channels are closed off to prevent dust from falling away during erasing. The channels are self-cleaning in that the dust falls away when the eraser is placed on the sill.
