    Abstract: The invention relates to a method for removing an exposed shielding of a cable, according to which a cutting tool is advanced into a cutting position on an outer surface of the shielding. It is provided that a gaseous medium is injected into the cable in order to apply a radially outwardly acting force to the shielding, in such a manner that the shielding is incised by a cuter of the cutting tool.
