Abstract: A method, protection overlay and system in which different service streams are distributed via a plurality of links, comprising logically separating the service streams according to service type profile; allocating resources for working and backup capacity according to the service type profile; and defining a link aggregation group (LAG) including at least one worker link for carrying high priority service streams and at least one backup link for carrying low priority service streams; whereby in response to worker link failure, at least higher priority service streams are transitioned from a failed worker link to a backup link.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for controlling the transport capacity for data transmission in a network, providing a high level of resilience, and at the same time, avoiding excessive overdimensioning of network capacity. The method includes providing a transport connection having a basic data transport capacity, ascertaining measured variables which are a measure of the current data load on the transport connection, and aligning the data transport capacity of the transport connection dependent on the measured variable ascertained.

Abstract: SDH/SONET signals are transported as a service including payload and overhead information by mapping associated payload data or information and selected associated overhead data or information of at least one SDH/SONET client signal to be transported into a SDH/SONET server signal. More specifically, client overhead information of the SDH/SONET client signal is mapped into free overhead positions of the SDH/SONET server signal. The SDH/SONET server signal is then transported with the SDH/SONET client signal including associated payload and overhead information embedded therein.
