  • Publication number: 20240051512
Abstract: A sensor test system for a pressure sensor in an electronic parking brake (EPB) of a vehicle. The pressure sensor is configured to measure a pressure in a pressure chamber or in a pressure line of the EPB. The sensor test system includes a pressure setting module configured to set the pressure; and by a detection module configured to detect, based on pressure set by the pressure setting module and based on a measured pressure from the pressure sensor, a potential malfunction of the pressure sensor, and to issue a warning signal if the potential malfunction is detected.

  • Patent number: 11872976
Abstract: A system for automatically stopping an autonomous vehicle, in which the autonomous vehicle includes a primary brake and a secondary brake controlled by least one control module or different control modules. The system includes: an error detection module configured to detect an error in the control of the primary brake or the secondary brake by the one control module or the different control modules; and a supplemental control module configured, upon a detected error by the error module, to cause a stop of the autonomous vehicle using the primary brake or the secondary brake.

  • Publication number: 20230303050
Abstract: A brake control system for issuing an early warning about a malfunction of a brake of a vehicle, in which the brake is configured to receive a brake signal and to perform a braking process after receiving the brake signal. The vehicle includes a sensor to generate sensor data, indicative of an actuation force of the brake. The brake control system includes a reception module to receive the brake signal and the sensor data, and by a processing module to monitor the sensor data during subsequent stages of the braking process, to detect, based on the monitored sensor data, a potential malfunction of the brake, and to issue a warning signal if the potential malfunction is detected.

  • Publication number: 20220410863
Abstract: A valve-arrangement is operable to switch between a bistable-valve (BV) behavior and a relay-valve (RV) behavior to control a parking-brake, and includes a housing with a supply-pressure-inlet (SPI), a service brake-control-inlet (SBCI) to provide a control-pressure, a pressure-outlet, and an exhaust-port, and includes a first-piston and a second-piston both movable along a same direction in the housing to define a first-chamber communicating with the SBCI, a second-chamber between the first-piston and the second-piston, and third chamber communicating with the pressure-outlet and with a controllable connection to the SPI, in which upon the control-pressure the second-piston moves with the first-piston to connect the pressure-outlet with the exhaust-port or with the SPI.

  • Patent number: 11479074
Abstract: A method, apparatus and vehicle for controlling a ride level for a vehicle having at least one first axle having a first air suspension and/or one second axle having a second air suspension, a parking brake and an operating brake, including: reading a ride level variation signal, indicating a ride level variation to be performed; providing a parking break release signal to an interface to a parking brake valve that, responding to the ride level variation signal, releases and engages the parking brake installation, the parking brake release signal being for actuating the parking brake valve for releasing the parking brake installation; and providing a first control signal to an interface to a first valve of the first air suspension and/or a second control signal to an interface to a second valve of the second air suspension while using the ride level variation signal for performing the ride level variation.

  • Patent number: 11358573
Abstract: A method for controlling a parking brake of a vehicle, including: receiving an activation signal which represents a manual operating unit of a parking brake being activated by a driver; reading a speed decrease signal which represents a value of a speed decrease of the vehicle upon receiving the activation signal; and emitting a delay signal as a function of the value of the speed decrease, wherein the delay signal is configured for delaying a complete engagement of the parking brake. Also described are a related apparatus/device, and a computer readable medium.
