  • Patent number: 9633664
Abstract: An audio decoder includes an arithmetic decoder for providing decoded spectral values on the basis of an arithmetically-encoded representation of the spectral values and a frequency-domain-to-time-domain converter for providing a time-domain audio representation using the decoded spectral values. The arithmetic decoder selects a mapping rule describing a mapping of a code value onto a symbol code in dependence on a context state described by a numeric current context value, and determines the numeric current context value in dependence on a plurality of previously-decoded spectral values. The arithmetic decoder modifies a number representation of a numeric previous context value, describing a context state associated with one or more previously decoded spectral values, in dependence on a context subregion value, to acquire a number representation of a numeric current context value describing a context state associated with one or more spectral values to be decoded. An audio encoder uses a similar concept.

  • Patent number: 9568063
Abstract: The invention relates to a vibration damper for a machine component which vibrates in the operating state thereof, wherein a damping mass arrangement is coupled to the machine component via a clearance and wherein the excitation of the damping mass arrangement in at least one vibration direction originates from a substantially shocklike interaction between the damping mass arrangement and the machine component. The invention leads to an increase in dampening efficiency due to the utilization of shock-like transfer of vibration energy.

  • Publication number: 20160116211
Abstract: A method is provided for operating a device for modifying a substrate with an irradiating unit in which multiple cylindrical infrared emitters having longitudinal axes arranged parallel to one another are grouped together. The method includes the steps (a) specifying a total radiation output power as a function of the substrate modification to be achieved, (b) operating each infrared emitter at a desired operating output power, (c) specifying a desired radiation spectrum as a function of the substrate modification to be achieved, and (d) selecting the desired operating output power of each infrared emitter individually so that, when the output powers are added together, the desired radiation spectrum and the total radiation output power are obtained, (e) with the proviso that the infrared emitters are of an identical construction and that the total radiation output power deviates by a maximum of 15% from a specified desired value.

  • Publication number: 20160074941
Abstract: A device for drying and sintering metal-containing ink on a substrate enables homogeneous irradiation of the substrate, has compact construction, and is simple and economical to produce. Optical infrared radiators have a cylindrical radiator tube and a longitudinal axis, and emit radiation having an IR-B radiation component of at least 30% and an IR-C radiation component of at least 5% of total radiator output power. The radiators are arranged in a module with their longitudinal axes running parallel to each other and transverse to the transport direction. They thereby irradiate on the surface of the substrate an irradiation field, which is divided into a drying zone and a sintering zone arranged downstream of the drying zone in the transport direction. The drying zone is exposed to at least 15% less average irradiation density than the sintering zone along a center axis running in the transport direction.

  • Publication number: 20150356236
Abstract: An apparatus for aligning segments with one another include a positioning device and a projection device, installed on the construction site, projecting projection lines onto the segments from different directions so that distances between the projection lines and reference points applied to the segments can be determined. The position of the individual reference points on the segments can be determined with reference to a coordinate system by an evaluation device. Based on the spatial arrangement of the reference points, theoretical best-fit planes and best-fit lines are then generated for each segment. The segments are levelled by moving the positioning device or adjusting the shortest possible distance between the theoretical best-fit planes and best-fit lines to the projection lines and are aligned by again moving the positioning device so that the distances between the theoretical best-fit planes and best-fit lines of the first segment and of the second segment are minimised.

  • Patent number: 8914296
Abstract: An audio decoder includes an arithmetic decoder for providing decoded spectral values on the basis of an arithmetically encoded representation thereof, and a frequency-domain-to-time-domain converter for providing a time-domain audio representation. The arithmetic decoder selects a mapping rule describing a mapping of a code value onto a symbol code representing a spectral value, or a most significant bit-plane thereof, in a decoded form, in dependence on a context state described by a numeric current context value. The arithmetic decoder determines the numeric current context value in dependence on a plurality of previously decoded spectral values. It evaluates a hash table, entries of which define both significant state values amongst the numeric context values and boundaries of intervals of numeric context values, in order to select the mapping rule, wherein the hash table ari_hash_m is defined as given in FIGS. 22(1), 22(2), 22(3) and 22(4).
