  • Patent number: 10297849
Abstract: Method and system for producing CO2, purified hydrogen and electricity from a reformed process gas feed using a solid oxide fuel cell. The method having the steps of: introducing the reformed process gas into the solid oxide fuel cell; converting hydrogen and CO of the reformed process gas in combination with oxygen into an anode off-gas including steam, CO2 and unconverted process gas; introducing the anode off-gas into a high temperature water gas shift reactor; in the high temperature water-gas shift reactor, converting CO and steam into CO2 and hydrogen, introducing the gas exiting the high temperature water-gas shift reactor into a low temperature water-gas shift membrane reactor, in the low temperature water-gas shift membrane reactor, converting CO and steam into CO2 and hydrogen, whereby the low temperature water-gas shift membrane reactor comprises a hydrogen pump producing purified hydrogen on a permeate side, while removing hydrogen from a feed side.

  • Patent number: 10297847
Abstract: A SOFC system having a fuel reformer for reforming a gaseous hydrocarbon stream and steam into a hydrogen rich gas, a solid oxide fuel cell stack including an anode and a cathode for electrochemically reacting the hydrogen rich gas and a cathode air stream to produce electricity, an anode exhaust stream and a cathode depleted air stream. The anode exhaust stream and the cathode depleted air stream are kept separate, a burner for combusting a mixture of the anode exhaust stream and a fresh air stream to complete combustion and produce heat for the reformer control unit and a blower are also provided. The control unit controlling the blower for controlling the mass flow rate of the fresh air stream to provide heat to the reformer to reform the gaseous hydrocarbon stream and to produce a burner exhaust stream.

  • Patent number: 8007486
Abstract: A method and a set for transferring fluid between a first container a second container. The first container is connected to an end of a first transfer body, a first sealing member preventing the fluid communication between these two elements. The second container is closed by a second sealing member. The second container is assembled with a fastening member provided at an end of a second transfer body which is in an inactivated position of the transfer set wherein at least a part of this body is partially inserted within the other end of the first transfer body. Each transfer body has one central passage coaxial to accommodate at least one end of a mobile piercing member. The part of the second transfer body moves along an axis from the inactivated position to an activated position of the transfer set wherein the fluid communication between these two containers is established.

  • Publication number: 20050048356
Abstract: Disclosed is a solid oxide fuel cell (SOFC) positive electrolyte negative (PEN) comprising electrodes on the rear side thereof used for establishing contact between a flat interconnecting plate and a raised structure which is configured in such a way that it forms gas circulation channels with said plate. The PEN and interconnecting plates can have holes so as to create internal gas inlet and outlet tubes. The electrolyte/electrode interface can also be configured as a raised structure increasing the ratio of the extended area to the projected area.
