Patent number: 8121907Abstract: System for transferring large supplier catalogs in a data transmission system including the Internet network, a marketplace site able to be addressed through the Internet network, a first plurality of customers connected to the Internet network and a second plurality of suppliers connected to the Internet network, each supplier having a catalog file of available goods to be supplied to any customer. A supplier requests the transfer of its catalog file to the marketplace site through a B2B gateway by using a catalog control protocol. The catalog file is transferred to the marketplace site through a catalog gateway by using a catalog transfer protocol. The catalog file received from the supplier is aggregated to a general catalog. The updated general catalog is published onto a storefront web site so that any one of the customers can view the goods of the supplier.Type: GrantFiled: February 12, 2008Date of Patent: February 21, 2012Assignee: International Business Machines CorporationInventors: Olivier Casile, Joaquin Picon

Patent number: 7984473Abstract: A system and method allowing a broadcaster to deliver short-term cyclic data along with the main content of the broadcast stream, synchronized with that main content, and for allowing users to have access to that information for longer periods than a typical data broadcast system would allow. Additional data content is added to the main content stream and is broadcast along with it. The additional data content is initially broadcast shortly prior to the time of its relevance to the main content and is buffered upon reception. In addition, it is rebroadcast cyclically over a short period, allowing viewers who tune in late to take advantage by acquiring the material during and briefly after the time of its initial relevance. If a viewer tunes in after the cyclic broadcast period has elapsed or if there was an error in the receiving or buffering of the additional data content, a return channel can be used to request that the material be retransmitted.Type: GrantFiled: June 14, 2000Date of Patent: July 19, 2011Assignee: International Business Machines CorporationInventors: Olivier Casile, Richard S. Patent number: 7693612Abstract: A system, method and computer program for updating computer programs embedded in a vehicle is disclosed. Wireless communication means are used to detect and contact one of a plurality of neighbor vehicles. Information is exchanged with the contacted neighbor vehicle related to a plurality of computer programs embedded in the vehicle and the neighbor vehicle. One of a plurality of computer programs is requested and retrieved from the contacted neighbor vehicle. Another of the plurality of computer programs is delivered to the neighbor vehicle. The retrieved computer program is validated and installed.Type: GrantFiled: June 6, 2006Date of Patent: April 6, 2010Assignee: International Business Machines CorporationInventors: Frederic Bauchot, Olivier Casile, Gerard Marmigere

Patent number: 6769026Abstract: A system operating in the intelligent peripheral servers (IP) of an intelligent network, allowing a telephone user to access the service applications (SLPs) of the peripheral server it is connected to or other service applications (SLPs) located on a remote server (SCP) of the intelligent network. The system comprises a programming interface to develop service applications operating in the intelligent peripheral and a handler modifying the standardized communication protocol between the intelligent peripheral server and the remote servers. The service applications located in the servers (IP and SCP) are developed using the programming interface, the handler being adapted to each intelligent network protocol such as ITU/ETSI or BELLCORE or WIN standards used in direct mode, through a direct network communication between the remote and intelligent peripheral servers or a communication through the central exchange (SSP) of the switched telephone network to which the telephone user is connected.Type: GrantFiled: July 19, 2000Date of Patent: July 27, 2004Assignee: International Business Machines CorporationInventors: Olivier Casile, Jean-Jacques Legoll

Patent number: 6134608Abstract: Data communications apparatus is described comprising a general purpose computer and an adapter for enabling the computer to be connected to a data communications network. The computer and the adapter are interconnected by a data card interface. The general purpose computer comprises a first driver arranged to provide a first application program with a data transport connection to the data communications network via the data card interface using a serial COM port. A second driver is arranged to enable a second application program to communicate with the adapter simultaneously with said first application. The adapter is arranged to enable the second application program to make use of additional data services provided by said network via the second driver program. In this way, in addition to its serial communication channel an alternate communication channel is provided between the data card and the computer which allows other applications to make use of the additional data services provided by the network.Type: GrantFiled: October 21, 1997Date of Patent: October 17, 2000Assignee: International Business Machines CorporationInventors: Olivier Jacober, Olivier Casile
