  • Publication number: 20120024949
Abstract: A mobile device is provided having a smart card. The smart card is powered by the mobile device and a maximum power supply value is defined by the mobile device to control the power drawn by the smart card. Provision is made for the smart card to inform the mobile device of the processes supported by the smart card and their classes of current. Provision is also made for the smart card to inform the mobile device whether or not the smart card supports high density memory. The mobile device is operable to use the information provided by the smart card to determine the optimal or best value of electrical current that is to be made available to the smart card.

  • Publication number: 20110319133
Abstract: A mobile device is provided having a smart card. The smart card is programmed to generate a new configure command that can be used to configure network related parameters with in the mobile device. The configure command can be used to override existing network related parameters or to add additional network related parameters. The network related parameters may relate to different access points and an identifier may be associated with each set of network parameters to facilitate the subsequent identification of desired network related parameters.

  • Publication number: 20110276819
Abstract: A mobile device is provided having a smart card. The smart card is powered by the mobile device and a maximum power supply value is defined by the mobile device to control the power drawn by the smart card. Provision is made for the smart card or the mobile device to renegotiate the maximum power supply level for the smart card without having to reset the mobile device. This provides the mobile device with dynamic control of the power drawn by the smart card, which can help the mobile device to optimize the power saving management.

  • Publication number: 20110228738
Abstract: The invention provides for a method of communication within a mobile radio communications device between a chip-card in server mode and any one or more of a plurality of clients each having the same IP address, the method including the steps of creating for each of the clients a socket, wherein each socket is bound to a client port allocated by the device, associating a client identifier to each of the bound client ports, and making each said client identifier available to the chip-card whereby the chip card can distinguish between messages from the plurality of clients.

  • Publication number: 20100248748
Abstract: The present invention provides for a UICC interface and related interfacing method, for use in a mobile radio communications device and including means enabling the UICC to provide an indication that at least one service requiring location data is present in the UICC, means for UICC to receive notification that a source of location data is available, means for allowing the UICC to initiate transfer of location data thereto, means for the actual transfer of the location data to the UICC, and means enabling the UICC to terminate the transfer of the location data, and wherein the location data can be provided from a GPS module or remotely in a contact-less manner.

  • Publication number: 20100232386
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for setting up data bearer parameters for a wireless communication between a User Equipment (2) and a remote server (12, 14, 15) in a telecommunication network, said UE (2) comprising a UICC (4) and a Mobile Equipment (6) having each a TCP/IP stack, said UICC (4) embodying at least one application intended to connect to at least one application on the network side, said method comprising the following steps: the UICC sends to the Mobile Equipment ME PDP context parameters within a specific command defined for activating or deactivating a PDP context, on reception of said specific command, the Mobile Equipment transmits a PDP context request to the Network with the parameters received in said specific command, on reception of said PDP context request the Network transmits to the Mobile Equipment (6) a confirmation for a PDP context activation or for a PDP context deactivation, the Mobile Equipment (6) forwards said confirmation to the UICC (4).

  • Publication number: 20100138525
Abstract: A method for providing a UICC embedded in a wireless Mobile Equipment (ME) with an operator DNS IP address in a Wireless communication Network, said method comprising the following steps: defining a specific Mobile Equipment (ME) event that the UICC may monitor, defining a new data structure that will comprise the DNS IP address to be sent to the UICC, registering the UICC to said event via predefined Setup Event List proactive command, generating said specific event by said ME when a PDP context is activated between the ME and the Network, including the DNS IP address in said new data structure, sending said new data structure (including the DNS IP address) from the ME to the UICC via a new Envelop command when said generated event occurs.
