  • Patent number: 11922054
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for techniques for temperature-based access operations are described. A memory system may be configured to write temperature information to metadata during a write operation. The temperature information may indicate a temperature range within which the memory system may be during the write operation. The memory system may perform a corresponding read operation based on the temperature information written to the metadata and a temperature of the memory system during the read operation. A server may determine and indicate parameters associated with writing the temperature information to the metadata. Additionally, or alternatively, the server may indicate trim parameters for use in performing read operations based on temperature information received from the memory system. In some examples, the memory system may perform targeted refresh operations at locations based on temperature information stored associated with the locations.

  • Patent number: 11886740
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for command prioritization techniques for reducing latency in a memory system are described. In some examples, a host system may receive a set of commands from one or more virtual machines to access a common memory system. The host system may store the set of command in a command queue associated with the memory system and arrange the set of command according to order that is based on one or more identified pattern of accessing sequential addresses in the set of commands. The host system may transmit the set of command to the memory system based on the order and the memory system may execute the commands according to the order.

  • Patent number: 11870918
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for security descriptor generation are described. An end device may be authenticated based on a certificate and a device key based on a security descriptor. The security descriptor may be generated based on publicly-available information such as time of day information, geographical information, or a default set of information. The security descriptor may be used for generation of a certificate accessible by a server used for authenticating the device and also may be used by an end device to generate a device key for verification by the server authenticating the device.

  • Patent number: 11868513
Abstract: Various examples are directed to systems and methods for providing a digital fingerprint of a selected portion of a memory device to a host device. A host device executing at a host device may send a to a driver a command to produce digital fingerprint data. The command may include an output pointer indicating a memory location of the local memory. The driver may generate a modified command that does not include the output pointer. The driver may send the modified command to a memory device. The driver may receive a reply comprising the digital fingerprint data and write the digital fingerprint data to a location at the memory location of local memory of the host device indicated by the output pointer.

  • Publication number: 20240005006
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for authenticating software images are described. Software images may include different portions (e.g., different versions, different users) that may be authenticated using hashes associated with an underlying data structure of the portion of the software image. In some examples, hashes (e.g., first hashes) associated with the software image may be generated and stored using a tree structure, such that a previous hash may be used when calculating a hash associated with a new portion of the software image. To authenticate a portion of the software image, a command may be issued, and a second hash may be calculated using the current data structure of the software image. The second hash may be compared to the associated first hash, and the software image may be authenticated based on the hashes matching.

  • Patent number: 11847201
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for authenticating a device using a remote host are described. In some systems, a management server may identify a software update for a device and transmit a notification that the software update is sent to the device. In some cases, the system may also include a field server. The field server may receive the notification and set a flag, in a memory, that indicates an association between the device and the software update. The field server may receive, from the device, a connection request that includes a certificate associated with a key for authenticating the device and accept the key as valid based on the flag indicating the update to the software.

  • Patent number: 11832199
Abstract: A method is provided for synchronizing timing in phase and frequency of clocks associated with a plurality of radio nodes (RNs) in a small cell radio access network (RAN) having an access controller operatively coupled to each of the RNs. In accordance with the method, a donor list is generated for each given RN in the RAN. The donor list represents an ordered list of potential wireless access points that are able to serve as a source of a wireless sync signal for the given RN. The donor lists are distributed to the respective RNs. An access point is selected by each of the RNs from their respective donor lists to use as a sync signal source. Each of the RNs synchronize their respective clocks in phase and frequency using wireless sync signals received from the respective selected access points.

  • Patent number: 11817168
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for environmental condition tracking for a memory system are described. A memory system may include one or more sensors (e.g., temperature sensors) for identifying a temperature of a memory device. For example, the sensor(s) may identify a first temperature of the memory device when performing a write operation on a memory cell and may identify a second temperature of the memory device when performing a read operation on the memory cell. The memory system may determine a performance characteristic of the memory device based on a correlation between the first temperature and the second temperature and may transmit the performance characteristic to a server.

  • Patent number: 11811743
Abstract: An online service store to configure services for endpoints in connection with validating authenticity of the endpoints. For example, a service can be ordered for an endpoint prior to the use of the endpoint. After receiving a request having identity data generated by a memory device configured in the endpoint, a server system can determine, based on a secret of the memory device and other data stored about the endpoint, the validity of the identity data and thus the authenticity of the endpoint. Based on the service ordered for the endpoint, the server system causes the endpoint to be connected to a client server to receive the service. The server system can cause the firmware of the endpoint to be updated to enable the endpoint to receive the service from the client server.

  • Patent number: 11783044
Abstract: A system, method and apparatus to authenticate an endpoint having a secure memory device. For example, at boot time of the endpoint, a cryptographic hash value of the boot loader stored in the memory device is used to generate a device identifier of the memory device; and identification data of multiple components of the endpoint is used with the device identifier of the memory device to generate a first key pair key and a second key. A counter value is retrieved from a monotonic counter to generate a certificate signed using a private key in the first key pair. The certificate can be sent over the computer network to a remote server for authentication using a public key in the first key pair. The second key pair can be authenticated and used to establish encryption for a communication connection between the endpoint and the server.

  • Publication number: 20230297516
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for circular buffer partitions are described. A memory device may include one or more sets of memory cells configured to operate as circular buffers. In some cases, upon receiving w rite command, the memory device (e.g., a controller of the memory device) may write data to the circular buffer based on a location of a cursor (e.g., a header pointer). After a write operation, the cursor may be incremented such that, upon receiving a subsequent write command, data may be written to the circular buffer beginning at the location of the cursor. In some examples, the circular buffer may be associated with one or more partitions (e.g., snapshot partitions) such that, upon the occurrence of a triggering event, a subset of data stored to the circular buffer may be stored to the partition (e.g., to a different portion of the memory device).

  • Publication number: 20230205426
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for modes to extend life of memory systems are described. In some examples a host system and a memory system may support one or more vendor commands to configure one or more logical units of the memory system to be accessible in a read-only mode. For example, the host system may periodically transmit a command to retrieve health information of the memory system. The host system may compare the health information to one or more thresholds associated with one or more host entities. If the health information satisfies a threshold for a host entity, the host system may transmit a command to the memory system to initiate a read-only mode for the logical units associated with the host entity. Additionally or alternatively, the memory system may track the health information and compare the health information to the one or more thresholds.

  • Publication number: 20230195387
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for memory-aligned access operations are described. A target packet size based on a quantity of physical pages addressable by individual first-level pages of a first-level page table for mapping logical address to respective physical pages may be indicated to a host system. A buffer may be configured based on the target packet size and data for an application at the host system and associated with the target packet size may be stored in the buffer. Based on a utilization threshold of the buffer being reached, a set of data stored in the buffer and having the target packet size may be written to a memory device, where a set of physical addresses for storing the set of data may be identified based on a second-level entry of a second-level page.
