  • Publication number: 20240017040
Abstract: A catheter accessory for use with a catheter having a distal portion comprising an intervention accessory having a distal portion outer diameter. The catheter accessory comprises an elongated tubular structure, releasably mounted onto the intermediate portion, but static during operation, to provide a pre-determined flexural rigidity and a pre-determined flexibility simultaneously to the intermediate portion covered by the elongated tubular structure. The elongated tubular structure has a default shape and size for operation with a lumen with an inside diameter larger than the intermediate portion outer diameter and smaller than the distal portion outer diameter, holding the catheter accessory onto the intermediate portion and completely proximal to the distal portion comprising the intervention accessory during the operation.

  • Publication number: 20220233201
Abstract: There is described a device for applying an adjustable and simultaneous compression on vessel access points. The device comprises a frame comprising a body with at least two cavities through the body to be placed about surfaces of a patient corresponding to the at least two cavities. At least two compression members are movably fitted in the cavities, wherein a portion of the frame defines a space into which a portion of the compression member is fitted and around which it hinges. A side of the compression members opposite a portion around which it hinges comprises a locking mechanism which releasably engages with the frame at an interface between said side and the frame to lock each one of the at least two compression members in a given hinge position for applying the pressure onto the vessel access point depending on the hinge position.

  • Publication number: 20210128793
Abstract: Bioresorbable medical devices, such as stents, scaffolds and other medical devices implantable in human and animal bodies, in which galvanic couples are formed. The devices include bioresorbable amalgamates, wires, laminates, layered structures or combinations thereof. Also, methods of manufacturing the devices, including laminating, folding, 110 braiding, weaving, crocheting or cold spraying of materials with different galvanic potentials Also, machining of amalgamated materials using electrical discharge machining.

  • Patent number: 10736995
Abstract: An intermixed particulate bioresorbable material including cathodic particles and anodic particles bound to each other, wherein the anodic and cathodic particles are made respectively of an anodic and a cathodic material, the anodic and cathodic materials forming a galvanic couple. The anodic and cathodic particles are present in a predetermined ratio and the anodic particles, cathodic particles and predetermined ratio are such that bioresorption of the bioresorbable material is promoted by galvanic corrosion between the anodic and cathodic materials. Also, a medical device, manufactured using the bioresorbable material and a method of manufacturing the bioresorbable material and the medical device.

  • Publication number: 20020090338
Abstract: To determine a coefficient of diffusion of a radioisotope in a radioisotope-containing implant structure and to calculate a quantity of radioisotope to be introduced in an implant structure in view of administering to a vascular region of a patient's body a dose of radioactivity at a given dose rate, a relation is calculated between a coefficient of diffusion of the radioisotope in the implant structure and a coefficient of diffusion of the radioisotope in the vascular region of the patient's body for at least one given period of time during which the radioisotope has to be released. The diffusion coefficient of the vascular region is determined. The method also determines, from the diffusion coefficient of the vascular region and in connection with the above relation, the diffusion coefficient of the implant structure required to release the radioisotope within the given period of time.
