  • Patent number: 8914227
Abstract: A method of generating a flight plan including a number N-1 of segments SGi, i being an integer number between 2 and N. Segment SGilinks an auxiliary departure position to an auxiliary arrival position according to a route. The route is a straight line defined by a list of auxiliary route positions. Each route is stored in a database onboard the aircraft. The method includes a coupled determination of an auxiliary arrival position that is part of the auxiliary positions of at least one of the routes and of a route followed by the segment SGi+1. The coupled determination is produced from an auxiliary departure position and a route Ri, followed by the segment SGi.

  • Patent number: 8509966
Abstract: The subject of the present invention is a method of estimating, at any point of a path of an aircraft, characteristics of the wind making it possible to take very close account of the winds to construct predictions of the times of passage and of the consumption of the aircraft along its flight plan, and this method is characterized in that it consists in collecting, around the trajectory of the aircraft, a grid of parameter values of winds at a predetermined number of points in space, in comparing these values to those deriving from space-time wind trend models, in selecting, path section by section, the most likely model, and in interpolating, for each section, the local characteristics of the wind of all the points of interest of the trajectory.

  • Publication number: 20080300739
Abstract: The field of the invention is that of the generation of an aircraft flight plan. The invention more specifically relates to a method of generating a flight plan enabling an aircraft to link a departure airport AD to a destination airport AA. The flight plan consists of a number N?1 of segments SGi, i being an integer number between 2 and N. The index i uniquely identifies the segment SGi of the flight plan linking an auxiliary departure position PADi to an auxiliary arrival position PAAi according to a route Ri. The route Ri is a straight line defined by a list of auxiliary route positions PARi,k, in which k identifies the auxiliary route positions. The routes Ri are stored in a database BDR onboard the aircraft. PAD1 is a geographic position (of the departure airport for example) AD, PAAN is a geographic position (of the arrival airport for example) AA, PAAi and PADi+1 are combined for any integer i between 2 and N?1.
