    Abstract: A method for detecting the detachment of a sensor device mounted in a wheel of a motor vehicle at an assembly distance from the center of the wheel. The method includes steps for acquiring (E1) the angular-speed value of the wheel, measuring (E2) the acceleration value of the sensor device, calculating (E3) the distance separating the sensor device from the center of the wheel using the angular-speed value and the acceleration value, and determining (E4) the detachment of the sensor device if the calculated distance is different from the assembly distance of the sensor device in the wheel.
