Patent number: 11636263Abstract: An editor service receives a textual input. The editor service provides the textual input to a rule-based grammar checker to obtain a grammar checker result. The editor service also provides the textual input to a machine learning (ML) fluency model that checks the textual input for errors and provides a ML model result. The editor service aggregates the grammar checker result and the ML model result and generates an editor service output based upon the aggregated results. A representation of the editor service result is provided to the client computing system for surfacing through a user interface.Type: GrantFiled: June 2, 2020Date of Patent: April 25, 2023Assignee: Microsoft Technology Licensing, LLCInventors: Zhang Li, Michael Wilson Daniels, Enrico Cadoni, Domenic Joseph Cipollone, Bhavuk Jain, Olivier Gauthier, Kaushik R. Publication number: 20230124709Abstract: Systems and methods are directed to providing personalized text proofing. A user model that is used to personalize generic critiques for text proofing a document is generated based on user signals indicating past user actions. During runtime of an application used to create the document, the user model is accessed and locally cached. User inputs comprising typed components used to create the document are received and a set of one or more generic critiques for the user inputs is accessed from an editor system. The user model is applied to the set which may modify a generic critique of the set. The modifying of the generic critique can cause the generic critique to be automatically applied or suppressed at the client device. The set including the modified generic critique is transmitted to a user device, whereby the user device applies the set to the document including automatically applying or suppressing the modified generic critique.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 15, 2021Publication date: April 20, 2023Inventors: James Aidan Cogley, Enrico Cadoni, Colin Laird, Shashank Shekhar Gupta, Olivier Gauthier

Patent number: 7351280Abstract: A composition and method for producing interconnective macroporous, resorbable and injectable calcium phosphate-based cements (MICPCs). The composition of the invention sets to poorly crystalline apatitic calcium phosphate after mixing a powder component and an aqueous solution. The multiphasic calcium phosphate components in the cement resorb at different rates allowing the timely replacement by new bone. The interconnected macroporosity in the cement allows for vascularization, entrapment of growth factors, cell colonization and tissue ingrowth. This MICPC can be used for dental and medical applications relating to bone repair, augmentation, reconstruction, regeneration, and osteoporosis treatment, and also for drug delivery, and as scaffolds for tissue engineering.Type: GrantFiled: February 9, 2005Date of Patent: April 1, 2008Assignees: New York University, Institut National Dela Sante ET Dela Recherche Medicale, The University of NantesInventors: Ibrahim Khairoun, Racquel Z. Patent number: 7109526Abstract: A semiconductor optical device such as a laser or semiconductor optical amplifier (SOA) based on an indium phosphide substrate or equivalent buffer layer. The active layer of the device is based on conventional InGaAs(P) alloy, but additionally includes N in order to increase the operating wavelength to greater than 1.5 ?m, preferably to a wavelength lying in the C- or L-band. The active layer composition may thus be denoted In1-xGaxAsyNzPp with x?0.48, y?1?z?p, z?0.05, p?0. The active layer may include a quantum well or multi-quantum wells in which case its thickness is preferably less than the critical thickness for lattice relaxation. In other embodiments the active layer is a “massive” layer with quasi-bulk properties. The active layer may advantageously be under tensile stress, preferably roughly between 1% and 2.2%, to manipulate the light and heavy hole bands. The active layer is typically bounded by barrier layers made of a suitable semiconductor alloy, such as AlInAs or InGaAs(P).Type: GrantFiled: July 15, 2004Date of Patent: September 19, 2006Assignee: Avonex CorporationInventors: Jean-Louis Gentner, Francois Alexandre, Bruno Thedrez, Olivier Gauthier-Lafaye
