  • Publication number: 20150357135
Abstract: A movable permanent contact (4) is made up of two portions (8, 11) separated by a dielectric spacer (12) and in communication with the electrical terminal (6) by means of respective rings of contacts (9, 10). The current flows mainly in the front ring (10) and the end of the portion (8) in normal operation. When the circuit breaker opens, the connection ceases, the current passes via the arcing contacts (2, 5), and the switching arc that appears briefly between contact portions (8 and 10) is confined in a step (14) and advantageously by a dielectric cap, thereby sparing the most sensitive portions of the volume between terminals, where the electrical field is the most intense.

  • Patent number: 8309871
Abstract: A control apparatus for controlling electrical switchgear, the control apparatus being designed such that it is capable of performing the following in succession: during an opening stage for opening the moving contact, causing the connection end for connection to the moving contact and provided on an output member to go from the point P1 to the point P2, under the effect of an opening mechanical spring moving a moving abutment element that drives the output member by abutment; during a re-cocking stage for re-cocking the spring, moving the moving abutment element under the effect of switching on a motor, while keeping the connection end at the point P2; and during a closure stage for closing the moving contact, causing the connection end to go from the point P2 to the point P1, also under the effect of switching on the motor.

  • Patent number: 7880104
Abstract: A control device for controlling electrical switchgear such as a circuit breaker or the like includes an actuating arm having a connection point suitable for being moved along a closed line including points P1, P2 and P3. The connection point thus moves during an opening stage for opening the moving contact, under the effect of a mechanical spring from point P1 to point P2. It also moves during a re-cocking stage for re-cocking the mechanical spring under the effect of a motor being switched on, and while keeping the moving contact in the open position, from point P2 to point P3. It also moves during a closure stage for closing the moving contact, also under the effect of the motor being switched on, from point P3 to P1. In this manner it is possible to successively perform three distinct stages of putting the actuating arm in motion, between the instant at which the moving contact leaves its closed position and the instant at which it returns thereto after having occupied its open position.

  • Publication number: 20070137994
Abstract: The invention relates to a control device for controlling electrical switchgear, the control device including an actuating arm (8) having a connection point (8b) suitable for being moved along a closed line (L) including points P1, P2, and P3: during an opening stage for opening the moving contact, under the effect of a mechanical spring (12), from point P1 to point P2; during a re-cocking stage for re-cocking the mechanical spring (12), under the effect of a motor (10) being switched on, and while keeping the moving contact in the open position, from point P2 to point P3; and during a closure stage for closing the moving contact, also under the effect of the motor being switched on, from point P3 to P1.

  • Patent number: 6603088
Abstract: A pressurized gas circuit-breaker pole includes a first enclosure or pole head having a first envelope with a first connecting flange including a circular orifice. The envelope contains a first mobile assembly terminating in a coupling member coaxial with the orifice. A second enclosure constituting an insulative column includes a second envelope having a second connecting flange with a circular orifice. The second envelope contains a second mobile assembly having a link for maneuvering the first mobile assembly and its end including complementary arrangements for coupling it with the coupling member. The connecting flange of each enclosure has an annular elastomer seal fixed to the corresponding connecting flange and through which the corresponding mobile assembly passes. The seal of each enclosure provides, during assembly of the flanges and coupling of the internal mobile assemblies, a sliding seal. The seal is broken on completion of assembly.

  • Publication number: 20030015337
Abstract: A pressurized gas circuit-breaker pole that can be assembled and disassembled without significant lose of gas includes a first enclosure or pole head including a first envelope including a first connecting flange including a circular orifice. The envelope contains a first mobile assembly terminating in a coupling member coaxial with the orifice. A second enclosure constituting an insulative column includes a second envelope including a second connecting flange including a circular orifice. The second envelope contains a second mobile assembly consisting of a link for maneuvering the first mobile assembly and its end including complementary arrangements for coupling it with the coupling member. The connecting flange of each enclosure is fitted with an annular elastomer seal fixed to the corresponding connecting flange and through which the corresponding mobile assembly passes.

  • Patent number: 6414257
Abstract: The single-phase circuit-breaker comprises at least one interrupting chamber formed by an insulating tube filled with an insulation gas, and it comprises at least one current transformer whose secondary is disposed in air around the primary at one end of the tube. The primary is at the high voltage electrical potential of the phase and is constituted by an annular metal support. The secondary is subjected to a high voltage electrical potential that is practically equal to the potential of the primary. The current transformer is thus integrated in the circuit-breaker, and the measurement electronics associated with the secondary can be located in air close to the secondary.
