Patent number: 12292498Abstract: An extension of the LoRa modulation with an improved ranging mode. A master and a slave device exchange a request and a reply that contain sequences of chirps that are carefully aligned in time, frequency, and preferably also phase, such that the master device can ascertain the propagation delay to the slave by demodulating the reply. Request and reply include chirps having different slopes, preferably slopes of equal absolute value and opposite sign. The slope diversity permits an unbiased estimation of the Doppler shift.Type: GrantFiled: November 23, 2021Date of Patent: May 6, 2025Assignee: SEMTECH CORPORATIONInventors: Olivier Bernard André Seller, Christophe Jean Jacques Devaucelle

Publication number: 20250114691Abstract: The disclosed computer-implemented methods and systems cause a second screen device to display custom-built layouts once the second screen device has been converted to a video game controller. For example, the disclosed methods and system convert the second screen device to a video game controller for a video game being supported by a digital content system and displayed on a separate first screen device. In response to detecting a trigger event, the disclosed methods and systems replace a standard layout on the second screen device with a custom-built layout. Publication number: 20250103856Abstract: Methods, systems, and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on a computer storage medium, for using a neural network to generate a network output that characterizes an entity. In one aspect, a method includes: obtaining a representation of the entity as a set of data element embeddings, obtaining a set of latent embeddings, and processing: (i) the set of data element embeddings, and (ii) the set of latent embeddings, using the neural network to generate the network output. The neural network includes a sequence of neural network blocks including: (i) one or more local cross-attention blocks, and (ii) an output block. Each local cross-attention block partitions the set of latent embeddings and the set of data element embeddings into proper subsets, and updates each proper subset of the set of latent embeddings using attention over only the corresponding proper subset of the set of data element embeddings.Type: ApplicationFiled: January 30, 2023Publication date: March 27, 2025Inventors: Joao Carreira, Andrew Coulter Jaegle, Skanda Kumar Koppula, Daniel Zoran, Adrià Recasens Continente, Catalin-Dumitru Ionescu, Olivier Jean Hénaff, Evan Gerard Shelhamer, Relja Arandjelovic, Matthew Botvinick, Oriol Vinyals, Karen Simonyan, Andrew Zisserman

Publication number: 20250096586Abstract: An adaptive tracking clamp acting as an extra regulation loop that limits excursions, such as at a transition from one regulation loop to another. The adaptive tracking clamp is dynamically positioned relative to the level of the regulation loop in control. In case of fast transient events, the loop that is initially in control will quickly raise the output demand but in a first time get limited by the adaptive tracking clamp level; in a second time the adaptive tracking clamp algorithm incrementally increases the output demand until handing off control to the other regulation loop.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 6, 2024Publication date: March 20, 2025Inventors: Olivier Stéphane Simon Depuits, Bruno Zurlinden, Thierry Jean-Claude Robert Tellier, Anthony Gabriel Lucien Arzur, Cedric Francois Raphael Blanc

Patent number: 12232041Abstract: If a secure element accesses a resource that is separate from the secure element, conducting a secure transaction can be inefficient in terms of power or time. Power usage is inefficient if the resource is never permitted to sleep, and transaction time is inefficient if the resource is permitted to sleep, and the user experiences a delay. To enable dual efficiency, a resource entity is permitted to be powered down. The resource entity is then powered up speculatively by an activation controller. The activation controller predicts an upcoming secure transaction based on sensor output, such as a position fix or a detected electromagnetic field. Based on monitored sensor output, the activation controller issues an activation signal to power up the secure element or the resource entity prior to initiation of the upcoming secure transaction. Thus, power can be conserved without introducing a transaction-processing latency.Type: GrantFiled: March 12, 2020Date of Patent: February 18, 2025Assignee: Google LLCInventors: Olivier Jean Benoit, Prasad Modali, Vinoth Kumar Deivasigamani, Benjamin K.
