  • Publication number: 20110013786
Abstract: An audio mixer provides a set of signal processing functions operative on one or more input channels and has a mixing board, a set of discrete channel selection controls, a set of adjustment controls, and a set of visual indicators. A controller circuit responds to the selection controls to change a mode of operation between at least first and second modes of operation, responds to the adjustment controls to set a value of each signal processing function, and provides display information to the visual indicators concerning at least one of the input channels and at least one of the output channels as a function of the operating mode. The mixer arrangement has the visual indicators dynamically displaying a characteristic of each of the respective input channels in the first mode and a value of the signal processing functions operating upon the selected input channel in the second mode.

  • Patent number: 6998528
Abstract: Multiple channels simultaneously provide multiple, modified digital audio signals, respectively, based on the same digital audio input signal. Each channel has a respective nonlinear effects section to apply a nonlinear transfer function, such as one that emulates a vacuum tube guitar amplifier, based on the input signal. In addition, a respective audio effects section is provided in each channel to apply an audio effect, such as a linear audio effect, based on the input signal. This audio effect is set in each channel by a controller. In another embodiment, multi-tracker (e.g., double tracker) functionality is provided by the multiple channels wherein at least one of the delay effect, pitch shift, and gain change in a channel is automatically changed as a function of the input signal.

  • Patent number: 6483922
Abstract: A method and apparatus for generating a simulated reverberation characteristic in an input audio signal having a plurality of channels, each channel transmitting time-synchronized data elements. The method and apparatus imparts a unique delay to each element of a set of time-synchronized data elements and thereafter delays the data element set through a series of delay elements. Each of a plurality of early reflection taps reads in and outputs a unique linear combination of the delayed data elements. The delayed elements are selectively input to at least one summing filter incorporating a plurality of comb filters. The output of the at least one summing filter is selectively combined based upon a summing scheme to provide a plurality of sum output elements. The sum output elements are combined with the early reflection tap output and a preselected combination of the time-synchronized data elements of the input signal to create a simulated reverberation signal.
