  • Patent number: 7710955
Abstract: We describe an active node, which receives an active message containing an active application identifier, transmits the active application identifier to an active applications server. receives associated code from the active applications server, and executes the associated code. The active node also may transmit to the active applications server information relating to its own environment, and information relating to whether it is an edge node or core node in the network, enabling the active applications server to determine the associated code to return to the active node.

  • Patent number: 7567563
Abstract: The request for the response from the sender to the receiver is dynamically routed via a first route traversing the network nodes. Addresses of the traversed network nodes are recorded in an order of traversing in the request. A second route is determined based on the recorded addresses of the nodes. A supplemental packet is generated. The supplemental packet is transmitted to the sender of the request via the determined second route, from a node address to a node address. The response is dynamically routed to the sender of the request by reversely traversing the first route.

  • Patent number: 7284162
Abstract: A distributed, multistage agent for monitoring, diagnosis and maintenance of network devices comprises an input/output interface for receiving input monitoring and diagnostic data relevant to operation of a first neighboring agent and transmitting output monitoring and diagnostic data relevant to operation of the host network device to a second neighboring agent. An agent process analyzes the input data and generates processed data characterizing operation of the host network device, using a local database which stores expected performance data on operation of said network device. The processed data is correlated with the expected data any error is signaled to the network operator. The agents may be designed as a multiple stage process, the stages being triggered by the data output by an earlier stage only when needed.

  • Publication number: 20060277300
Abstract: An Internet Protocol communication network (N) comprises communication equipments (Tj, Sk) certain of which offer at least one service. Certain of the equipments (Tj) comprise management means (MG) which, when they receive a coded address containing address data representing the address of a service equipment (Sk) that offers a service and belongs to a portion of the network (N) that has no service selection means and service data representing the offered service, store the received address data in a memory (M) in corresponding relationship to the service data conjointly received. Accordingly, if one of the communication equipments (Tj) wishes to access a selected service, its management means (MG) determine in its memory (M) the address data representing the address of the service equipment (Sk) that offers the selected service, in order to set up a connection therewith.

  • Publication number: 20060155834
Abstract: The invention relates to a controlled telecommunications network and a signaling method for use in a network of that kind, which comprises active nodes (11) and signaling control units (3, 4). The method comprises the steps of reception by a signaling unit of a virtual circuit request (5) from a client terminal (1), setting up that circuit between the client terminal (1) and a server terminal (2), and negotiation between the terminals (1, 2) and the signaling control units (3, 4) of the characteristics to be assigned to a data stream (10) that has to cross the network. The following steps are then added: determination of the appropriate active codes, decision on a strategy for deployment of the active codes by the signaling control units, and then deployment (8) of the active codes among the active nodes (11) of the network from one or more signaling units (3, 4).

  • Publication number: 20060153086
Abstract: A system is dedicated to controlling interruption of the operation of a router of an Internet protocol communication network. The system comprises observation means which, in the event of reception of an instruction to observe IP datagrams in transit received by the router, deliver an alert signal in case of absence of detection of IP datagrams during a first selected time period. It further comprises control means which, if it is required to interrupt the operation of the router, instruct processing means to generate outgoing warning messages to other routers reporting the withdrawal of routes for routing of IP datagrams by the router, instruct the observation means to commence an observation, and authorize interruption of the operation of the router in the event of reception of an alert signal from the observation means.

  • Publication number: 20050201374
Abstract: There is disclosed a method of transmitting data packets in a telecommunication network made up of nodes for dynamically routing successive packets sent by a sender to a receiver so that the packets may be routed along different routes and using a protocol such that a receiver receiving a request transmits a response to the sender of the request. At one or more nodes of the network the response is routed dynamically to the sender and a supplemental packet is generated that is sent to the sender of the request and whose route is predetermined.

  • Patent number: 6941129
Abstract: Known telecommunication systems comprising a network with fixed stations and comprising mobile stations for sending identification codes to said network via fixed stations and for allowing mobile communication to subscribers using said mobile phones, with said network comprising a database for storing subscriber-information, can offer more services by storing in said database subscriber-information related to identification codes for allowing subscriber-information to be exposed to further subscribers, with update codes being used for updating said subscriber-information. Preferably, said update codes define the amending of subscriber-information already stored or the storing of new subscriber-information, and an analyser is used for analysing subscriber-information and in dependence transmitting messages. Further, purpose codes are used to define which parts of said subscriber-information is to be analysed and/or to be amended and/or to be exposed, and location codes are introduced to introduce borderlines.
