Publication number: 20110264414Abstract: This method comprises the following steps: the obtaining (210; 210*) of relative layout parameters, each between two objects of a set of objects; the association (211; 211*), with each relative layout parameter received, of a value, called reliability of the relative layout parameter. It moreover comprises the following loop of steps (212; 212*), executed at least once: the selection (214; 214*) of a working sub-set, as a function of the reliabilities of the relative layout parameters; the determination (230; 230*) of new relative layout parameters, each between an object belonging to the working sub-set and an object external to the working sub-set; the association (232; 232*), with each new determined relative layout parameter, of a reliability calculated from the reliabilities of the relative layout parameters of the objects of the working sub-set.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 28, 2011Publication date: October 27, 2011Applicants: Institut Polytechnique De Grenoble, Comm. a I' ener. atom. et aux energies alter.Inventors: Mikael CARMONA, Olivier Michel

Publication number: 20110164319Abstract: A tilt compensation system is described herein that provides an inexpensive and effective solution to remove stereoscopy artifacts, particularly artifacts associated with head tilt issues. When applied to stereoscopic eyewear, the system can improve the viewing experience for viewers. In some embodiments, the tilt compensation system includes a lens assembly that is separate from a frame assembly, so that the lens assembly can move in relation to the frame assembly. When the viewer tilts his head, the system automatically compensates for the head tilt of the user by mechanically, electronically, or electromagnetically rotating the lenses of the eyewear at an opposite angle. Thus, the tilt compensation system allows cheaper filtering technologies to be used for 3D presentations without the downsides of eyewear that experiences ghosting in response to tilting.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 4, 2010Publication date: July 7, 2011Inventor: Olivier Michel Contant

Patent number: 7889764Abstract: The present invention relates to a method for creating a correspondence between the local time of a first machine (B), having a first clock (HB), and that of a second machine (A), having a second clock (HA). The invention also relates to a method of synchronization between data recorded and date stamped by said first machine (B) with respect to the local time of said second machine (A). In order to make it more flexible and robust, this method does not comprise a synchronization of said clocks (HA, HB), but is based on the establishment of a correspondence ‘by intervals’ between the times that they indicate. In order to establish correspondence, a non-monotonic temporal reference may be formed by the clock of a synchronous bus connecting, at least temporarily, the two machines (and possibly other devices).Type: GrantFiled: February 17, 2005Date of Patent: February 15, 2011Assignees: Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique (CNRS), Universite de Technologie de Compiegne (UTC)Inventors: Philippe Bonnifait, Paul François Pierre Crubille, Véronique Cherfaoui, Hadji Amadou Gning El, Mohamed Shawky, Olivier Michel Bezet, Géry Brissot
