  • Publication number: 20240235047
Abstract: An array antenna is formed from delay lines, and includes radiating elements which are individually connected to line patterns of the delay lines. Such an array antenna structure can be implemented by printed circuit technology and can be used to establish radio links for data communication between a mobile carrier, such as an aircraft, and a geostationary satellite.
    Type: Application
    Filed: October 7, 2020
    Publication date: July 11, 2024
Inventors: Juan DURAN, Cédric MARTEL, Gaëtan PRIGENT, Olivier PASCAL

  • Patent number: 11616304
Abstract: An antenna (100) for emitting radiation from at least one electromagnetic traveling wave which propagates along a guide path is designed to reduce reflection of the traveling wave likely to occur at the end of the guide path. To this purpose, the guide path has at least one portion in the form of a spiral segment (11, 12), which is connected to another portion of the guide path in the form of a loop (13). Gain in the antenna's reflection coefficient can be obtained in this manner, which is effective in particular near a lower frequency limit of a transmission band of the antenna.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: September 6, 2019
Date of Patent: March 28, 2023
Assignee: OFFICE NATIONAL D'ETUDES ET DE RECHERCHES AÉROSPATIALES

  • Patent number: 8289223
Abstract: The invention relates to an antenna comprising a plurality of metallic elements (10, 20, 30, 40), said metallic elements (10, 20, 30, 40) being in point contact (11, 21, 31, 41) with a ground plane (M) and equally distributed about a central axis of symmetry (D) of the antenna, perpendicular to the ground plane (M). The antenna of the invention is characterized in that each metallic element extends from the point contact at a non-zero angle of inclination (q) to said ground plane (M) and in that the ground plane (M) includes at least one cavity (80-83, 84-87) so that, in operation, the antenna matching is better in a specified frequency band than when the ground plane (M) has no cavities.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: April 14, 2008
Date of Patent: October 16, 2012
    Assignee: Centre National d'Etudes Spatiales
