  • Publication number: 20080234970
Abstract: The invention comprises devices and methods for determining residual stress in MEMS devices such as interferometric modulators. In one example, a device measuring residual stress of a deposited conduct material includes a material used to form a MEMS device, and a plurality of disconnectable electrical paths, wherein said plurality of paths are configured to disconnect as a function of residual stress of the material. In another example, a method of measuring residual stress of a conductive deposited material includes monitoring a plurality of signals, each of said plurality of signals being associated with one of a plurality of test structures, said plurality of test structures each being configured to change the associated signal upon being subject to a predetermined amount of residual stress, sensing a change in said plurality of signals, and determining a residual stress level in said material based on the sensed change in the plurality of signals.

  • Patent number: 6869560
Abstract: A process for manufacturing a flexible sleeve for a prosthesis or orthesis, including selecting sleeve preform (2) which consists of flexible thermoformable material and having approximately conical or cylindrical shape with a closed end of rounded shape the dimensions of which are matched to those of the stump or stump replica to be fitted with the prosthesis or with the orthesis; heating the preform (2) until it softens; slipping the softened preform over the stump or over the stump replica (1); conforming the shape of the softened preform (2) to that of the stump or of its replica (1); leaving the preform (2) to cool on the stump or on the replica; and removing the cooled preform which constitutes the finished sleeve from the stump or the stump replica.

  • Patent number: 5674186
Abstract: A halo adapted to enclose the forehead and temples of a patient including at least two frontotemporal bars (1) which are joined to each other, and two half-arches (2) which are joined to each other and are fixed connected with the frontotemporal bars, the joined half-arches forming an arch enclosing the posterosuperior zone of the cranium of the patient. The frontotemporal bars (1) and the half-arches (2) are interconnected through bars (4, 5) overlapping the contiguous ends of the former. The mutually facing portions of the frontotemporal bars, the half-arches and the interconnecting bars include orifices (7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12) facilitating rigid fastening together thereof by assembly screws (6). At least some of the orifices of the interconnecting bars, the frontotemporal bars, and the half-arches being oblong slots (7, 8, 12), facilitating adapting the dimensions of the halo to the morphology of the cranium of the patient.

  • Patent number: 5549710
Abstract: A system for assembling two components of a prosthesis in a plurality of positions which are adjustable in orthogonal translation, and selectively in rotation and angularly. In the system, a projecting part integral with one of these components is engaged in a recess, forming a hollow part of the other component of the prosthesis, or of an intermediate connection element, while screws arranged transversely with respect to the lateral walls of the cell come into abutment, as in the prior art, against the lateral flanks of the projecting part, but without the base of the hollow part bearing directly against the facing surface of the projecting part.
