Abstract: An acoustic and thermal shield for a motor vehicle, including a porous shell based on fibers bound together by a binding agent and a spring layer based on elastically compressible polyurethane foam, the porosity of the shell being such that the foam is able to create a sealed skin on the underside of the shell, which fibers consist of two types: thick reinforcing fibers in an amount of 25 to 40% by weight of the shell and fine fibers in an amount of 15 to 35% by weight of the shell, the bonding agent being formed by fusible bonding fibers in an amount of 35 to 50% by weight of the shell, so that substantially no foam penetrates the thickness of the shell.

Abstract: A method for producing a vehicle acoustic protection panel, comprising producing a screen comprising two parts in a first mould by thermocompression, the parts having a first configuration enabling them to be released from the mould, the parts each comprising a fibrous and porous thermal insulation layer and a heat-reflecting metal sheet made of aluminium, placing in juxtaposition the parts side by side in a second mould, of which a moulding cavity corresponds to the geometry of the panel to be obtained, the parts can be pressed firmly against the wall of the moulding cavity, adopting a second configuration corresponding to the panel geometry, the fibrous layer facing towards the inside of the moulding cavity, injecting in the moulding cavity a mixture that is a precursor of foam, forming a core overmoulding the fibrous layer, after the foam has expanded, releasing the panel obtained from the mould.

Abstract: A decorative sheet including a decoration and a process for forming the sheet are disclosed. This process comprises the following steps:using a mold consisting of at least two parts, at least one part of which is formed of at least two elements, at least one element (5) corresponding to the medallion and at least one other element (6) corresponding to the periphery of the piece, around the medallion;placing the decorative sheet (20) on the element corresponding to the medallion and closing the mold;within the cavity of the mold, isolating the space (23) located below the decorative sheet from the peripheral space (21);injecting plastic material in succession into the spaces thus isolated; andejecting the piece obtained.
