Publication number: 20140142528Abstract: An absorbent pad having a chassis including a liquid-permeable topsheet and a liquid-impermeable backsheet, wherein the absorbent pad is geometrically symmetrical along its longitudinal and transversal centre lines. The absorbent pad is provided with attaching arrangements by which the pad can be releasably attached to a separate belt adapted to be placed around the waist of the user. The absorbent pad further includes an absorbent core interposed between the topsheet and backsheet, so that the absorbent core is divided into a first longitudinal half and a second longitudinal half along its longitudinal length. The absorbent core has a thickness which is substantially the same on the same distance from the transversal centre line (measured perpendicular to the transversal centre line) before the core is wetted. The first longitudinal half has a higher absorption capacity than the second longitudinal half.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 29, 2012Publication date: May 22, 2014Applicant: SCA Hygiene Products ABInventors: Mandy Qin Wang, Johnwin Loh, Olle Carlbark, Peter Rönnberg

Patent number: 6503238Abstract: An absorbent article suitable for use as a diaper or adult incontinence garment includes an absorbent body disposed between a cover sheet, an inner sheet. Longitudinally extending folds disposed on the inner sheet inhibit the leakage of bodily exudates from the edges of the article. Elastic members extend along a portion of the length of the folds in the mid portion of the article. In the back portion of the article, elastic members connected to the inner sheet extend adjacent the edges of the absorbent body to enhance the fit of the garment. In the front portion of the article, elastic members may also be connected to the inner sheet and extend adjacent the edges of the absorbent body to enhance the fit of the garment.Type: GrantFiled: June 16, 2000Date of Patent: January 7, 2003Assignee: SCA Hygiene Products ABInventors: Ingela Torstensson, Peter Rönnberg, Olle Carlbark, Lennart Nilsson, Johan Skogsberg

Publication number: 20020128619Abstract: A laminate material (25) for a garment (10) for use in absorbing bodily wastes. The laminate material has a first layer (26), a second layer (28), and a third layer (30) intermediate the first and second layer. The first layer (26) and the second layer (28) are predominantly a polyester material having a basis weight of from 70 g/m2 to 150 g/m2, preferably from 100 g/m2 to 130 g/m2, and the third layer (30) is a microporous membrane, preferably of polyurethane.Type: ApplicationFiled: February 20, 2002Publication date: September 12, 2002Inventors: Olle Carlbark, Kenneth Strannemalm, Peter Ronnberg, Bettina Balslev Sorensen
