  • Patent number: 7363730
Abstract: A device (21) and method for removing a broken pulp web (27) from a pulp dryer and a maintenance platform (23) comprising such a device. The device (21) comprises an actuator (31), a pulling means (33) functionally coupled to the actuator and adapted to be driven by the actuator, and a gripping means (1, 11) coupled to the pulling means (33) and comprising means (4, 5) for engaging to the pulp web. The actuator is arranged to actuate the gripping means via the pulling means. The actuator is used to pull the gripping means and along with it, the pulp web out from the pulp dryer.

  • Patent number: 7135091
Abstract: The invention relates to an arrangement for threading a pulp web (W) from the press section (1) of a pulp machine to the dryer (2) of the pulp machine. The arrangement comprises a closing tail threading belt (3) or the like, which is arranged to convey the narrow tail end (Wh) formed on the pulp web (W) inside the dryer (2), where the tail threading cord travels outside the edge of the normal web line of the pulp web. The tail end (Wh) can subsequently be broadened into a normal-width pulp web (W). The arrangement further comprises means (7) for gripping the tail end (Wh) in order to bring the tail end inside/between a closing tail threading cord (3) or the like, whereby the gripping means (7) are arranged to function at the normal running speed of the pulp machine.

  • Patent number: 6511015
Abstract: A method and a device for stabilizing the web run in a paper machine or the like having a blow suction module (12) mounted above and/or below the web. The blow suction module comprises a blow nozzle unit (14) extending across the web, through which gas, such as air or combustion gas, is blown against the web (10) from the blow nozzle unit, and a first air discharge unit (18) arranged on the front side of the blow nozzle unit, and a second air discharge unit (22) arranged on the back side of the blow nozzle unit, which remove air or gas from between the web and the blow suction module. The blow suction module is asymmetric regarding the first and second air discharge units, so that more air or gas is discharged via the first air discharge unit than via the second air discharge unit.

  • Patent number: 6393728
Abstract: A fiber containing pulp, such as chemical pulp, mechanical pulp, thermomechanical pulp, TMP, de-inked water, or fiber containing sludge, is dried in an effective and efficient manner. The wet pulp is first dewatered mechanically, such as by using a drum or screw press. Then dewatered pulp is passed to a dryer. The dryer has first and second apertured cylindrical surfaces defining a gap between them, and drying gas is blown through one of the apertured surfaces, then through a pulp layer moving in the drying gap between the cylindrical surfaces, and then through the apertures in the other cylindrical surface, to evaporate water from the pulp and dry it to a dry matter content of over 80%, preferably about 85-90%.
