Abstract: A method for setting up data sessions in a communication system is provided. The method comprises registering at least one user equipment with a service provider where after information about media capabilities is communicated between the at least one user equipment and the service provider and then stored. The method comprises further sending a request for a data session with at least one user equipment and using the stored information when setting up the requested data session. A communication system, an application server and a user equipment configured to operate accordingly are also provided.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a method and system for modifying of address information in a message routed in a packet data network, wherein the address information is changeable along a routing path of the message. In case of a change of the address information, information specifying a reason for the changed address information is added to the message, and a processing of the message is selected at a session control function based on the added information. This allows for address change operations, such as number modifications or access code additions, even in cases where an address change is generally interpreted by the session control function as a call forwarding operation.

Abstract: A method in a communication system for providing communication sessions is provided. The method comprises the steps of registering a user equipment with a data network and then registering the user equipment with a service provider by means of the data network. A data session may then be activated between the user equipment and the service provider via a communication network. Subsequent to the activation, a request can be sent from the user equipment to the service provider for a communication session with at least one other party. The already activated data session can be used for communication between the user equipment and the requested at least one other party. A communication system and an application server configured to operate accordingly are also provided.
