  • Patent number: 5267641
Abstract: A reciprocating conveyor includes a plurality of elongated, load-supporting reciprocative slats mounted on a plurality of elongated, slat-mounting base members secured side-by-side across the supporting frame. Each reciprocative slat mounts a pair of elongated bearing members for reciprocative movement therewith, the bearing members configured to engage the base members to secure the reciprocating slat for reciprocative movement relative thereto, and are further configured to provide a seal thereagainst to restrict the passage of particulate material to the base members to a minimum, and also are configured to engage any such material that should escape the seal and enter the space beneath the reciprocating slat to continuously push said material toward and out of one end of the reciprocating conveyor with each successive movement of the reciprocating slat in that direction during operation of the conveyor.

  • Patent number: 5263573
Abstract: A reciprocating conveyor includes a plurality of groups of reciprocating slats supported on a main frame, each group of slats being connected to a separate drive beam by releasable clamp bolts extending through laterally elongated openings in the drive beam for accommodating alignment of the slats with adjacent slats. The drive beams are connected detachably to the piston rods of hydraulic piston-cylinder drive units through quickly attachable and detachable clamps, and the drive units are formed as a drive module that is readily attached to and detached from the main support frame.

  • Patent number: 5088595
Abstract: A reciprocating conveyor includes a plurality of elongated, load-supporting reciprocative slats mounted on a plurality of elongated, liquid-impervious slat-mounting base members secured side-by-side across a supporting frame. The adjacent sides of adjacent base members are interconnected by a waterproof seal, whereby the assembly of base members forms a waterproof floor under the reciprocative slats. A liquid collection receptacle is mounted on the frame adjacent one end of the base assembly to receive the liquid content of a load supported on the slats, and a drive mechanism for reciprocating the slats is contained within the receptacle and connected to the reciprocative slats through slots formed in the base members above the collection receptacle.

  • Patent number: 4966275
Abstract: A reciprocating conveyor comprised of a plurality of elongated, reciprocative, load-supporting slats mounted on a conveyor frame for reciprocative movement relative to the frame, is mounted detachably on an underlying support frame which carries integrally therewith a hydraulic drive mechanism arranged to releasably engage the load-supporting slats for reciprocating the latter on a predetermined sequence for moving a load in an off-loading or on-loading direction.

  • Patent number: 4856645
Abstract: A reciprocating slat type conveyor comprises a framework mounting a bed of longitudinally extending, laterally spaced apart first and second groups of alternating slats arranged for longitudinal sliding movement on the plane of the bed. Interposed between adjacent reciprocating slats is a fixed slat mounted immovably to the framework, each fixed slat having an upper material supporting surface that is narrower than the upper material supporting surface of each first and second reciprocative slat.

  • Patent number: 4727978
Abstract: A reciprocating conveyor is formed of at least one group of at least three elongated slats of inverted U-shape spaced apart laterally for longitudinal reciprocation in such manner that all or a majority of slats move simultaneously in a load conveying direction and sequentially in the opposite, retracting direction. A seal member is secured to one side section of each slat and extends laterally therefrom to a position closely adjacent the facing side section of the adjacent slat. The fines of particulate material being conveyed as a load gravitate downward past the free side of the seal member and are deposited in a trough that underlies each pair of facing side sections of adjacent slats. As the adjacent slats move simultaneously in the load conveying direction, the corresponding pair of facing side sections move the fines in the trough in the same direction. This movement is enhanced by providing fines pusher members on the lower ends of the side sections of the slats.

  • Patent number: 4691819
Abstract: A plurality of elongated slats are arranged side by side to form an elongated conveyor, and they are connected to three transverse drive beams in such manner as to form the slats into a plurality of groups of three slats each. Each drive beam is connected to a pair of fluid pressure drive cylinders disposed on opposite sides of the beam so that as one cylinder pushes the beam the other cylinder pulls it. Control valves communicates the cylinders selectively to a source of fluid pressure to reciprocate the slats in a manner to effect moving a load supported thereon in a predetermined direction. The plurality of slats thus form a reciprocating conveyor which moves a load in one direction at a predetermined speed.

  • Patent number: 4433548
Abstract: Each cylinder of an internal combustion engine is provided with a reciprocative piston and a combustible fuel intake port controlled by an intake valve. A steam generation chamber communicates with the cylinder through a steam inlet port controlled by a steam inlet valve which is opened by steam pressure in the generation chamber. The generation chamber also communicates with a combustible fuel exhaust pipe through a combustible fuel exhaust port controlled by a fuel exhaust valve the opening of which is also accompanied by opening of the steam inlet valve. The steam generation chamber also communicates through a water injection valve and, preferably, a heat exchanger associated with the exhaust pipe, with a source of water under super-atmospheric pressure. A steam exhaust port, controlled by a steam exhaust valve, also communicates the cylinder with a steam condenser the outlet of which communicates with a supply reservoir for the water source.

  • Patent number: 4308661
Abstract: The end cap separating tool of this invention comprises a pair of spreader blocks, generally U-shaped in plan, the projecting ends of which clamp by means of anchor screws to adjoining end cap halves adjacent their outside edges. A T-handled actuator screw is threaded through a tapped opening in one block and the end of the screw opposite the handle is attached rotatably to the second block, whereby rotation of the screw in one direction moves the one spreader block away from the second, thereby separating one end cap half from the other and from the telephone cable. The other end cap half is separated from the cable by a cord extended across the cap diameter, under the telephone cable and up the opposite side of the cable to the one block where it is secured. Rotation of the screw in the direction to move the one block away from the second block engaging the end cap half results in lifting and rolling the cable away from the end cap half.
