Abstract: Systems and methods for creating, editing and publishing cross-platform interactive digital content works include a content management component configured to store portions of a digital content work and to implement version control of the digital content work; a defect tracking component configured to store a defect record related to a stored portion of the digital content work; a publication pipeline component configured to format the digital content work for publication; and a integration component configured to present a graphical user interface which allows for editing the stored portions of the digital content work, editing the defect record, and instructing the publication pipeline to format the digital content work for publication.

Abstract: Icons representing a library of predefined media objects for insertion in a digital content work open for editing within a content creation and editing tool may be displayed in a graphical user interface of the content creation and editing tool. Thus, the content creation and editing tool may include an interface which displays, simultaneously, a presentation view and a code view of content comprising the digital content work along with icons representing the library of predefined media objects. Computer-readable code corresponding to a selected one of the library of predefined media objects may be inserted within the digital content work at a user-specified location, e.g., responsive to user action specifying a desire to insert code. Also, an explanation of a selected one of the media objects of the library may be displayed responsive to a user action.

Abstract: A system, computer-readable storage medium, and computer-implemented method for editing content works, such as publications using markup language, via a user interface having panel of patterns, are presented. The disclosure includes approaches for editing and creating patterns based on selected representations of markup elements and other content, and also features of the user interface that enable use of the patterns for modifying content works.

Abstract: Embodiments are provided for managing user interface elements. In some embodiments, a first positioning of a user interface indicator is detected within a target region of a user interface, responsive to the first positioning, at least a portion of a user interface element is overlaid onto the user interface and at least one user interface control for receiving input on incorporation options for the user interface element into the user interface is presented, and the user interface is presented based on whether incorporation option input is received.

Abstract: Embodiments are provided for conversion of content to formats suitable for digital distributions. In some embodiments, a transformation of selected markup elements within a content item into semantic markup elements is performed, where the transformation provides receipt of a selection indicative of a mapping between a chosen markup element and a pattern element of a defined pattern, the defined pattern defining at least one of a semantic markup tag and a semantic attribute for each pattern element, and processing of the transformation by assigning to the chosen markup element at least one of a semantic markup tag and a semantic attribute defined for the pattern element mapped to the chosen markup element.
