  • Publication number: 20230353386
Abstract: The present disclosure relates to establishing secure communication between a dialysis machine and medical equipment. In an example, a dialysis machine includes a control unit configured to establish a short-range wireless connection with external medical equipment. The control unit establishes the short-range wireless connection by causing a user interface to display a prompt to enter a passkey associated with medical equipment, using the received passkey to pair with the medical equipment, and creating a new bonding table or writing to an empty bonding table using the passkey. The control unit is also configured to generate a shared key using the passkey and at least one predetermined criterion and use the shared key to authenticate with the medical equipment. When authentication with the medical equipment is successful, the control unit enables data communication using the short-range connection with the medical equipment.

  • Publication number: 20200390959
Abstract: A signal filtering device implements a filtering method that involves operating a digital filter (60) on a pressure signal (p), which represents fluid pressure in a medical apparatus, to produce a filtered signal (y). The method further comprises detecting or predicting presence of a disturbance in the pressure signal (p), and selectively modifying a state vector of the digital filter (60) at a selected time point subsequent to the disturbance in the pressure signal (p), so as to suppress influence of the disturbance on the filtered signal (y). The state vector may be modified by replacing the state vector of the digital filter (60) at the selected time point (t2) by a dedicated reconfiguration state vector (Z?).

  • Patent number: 9925323
Abstract: Systems and methods for monitoring the presence of blood in an extracorporeal blood circuit are disclosed. A control unit, which is connected to a blood detector and to one or several pressure sensors, determines whether blood is present in the membrane device based on the differential pressure there over and generates a signal if the presence of blood as detected by the blood detector and the presence of blood as determined based on the differential pressure value do not coincide with each other.
