  • Publication number: 20190069209
Abstract: A wireless device and a method for providing an improved cell reselection procedure. The wireless device is served in a serving cell. At a first point in time, the wireless device determines a first signal quality of a first signal received from the serving cell. At a second point in time, it determines a second signal quality of a second signal received from a neighbour cell. Based on the determined first and second signal qualities, the wireless device determines a first trigger condition for performing measurements for cell reselection. At a third point in time, the wireless device determines a third signal quality of a third signal received from the serving cell. When a difference between the third and first signal qualities has passed the trigger condition, the wireless device performs at least one measurement for cell reselection on at least one of the cells.

  • Publication number: 20190014514
Abstract: Methods, network node (110; 113, 400) and device (120; 600) for supporting cell selection and/or cell reselection for the device (120; 600) in a wireless communication network (100). The wireless communication network (100) obtains information regarding resources associated with one or more potential target cells (116a-b), respectively, for the device (120; 600), which resources would be associated with the device (120; 600) if the device (120; 600) would camp on said one or more potential target cells (116a-b). The wireless communication network (100) determines, based on said obtained information, an indicator for indicating to the device (120; 600) how to evaluate said one or more potential target cells (116a-b) regarding cell selection and/or cell reselection. The wireless communication network (100) sends the determined indicator to the device (120; 600) that evaluates one or more potential target cells regarding cell selection and/or cell reselection based on the indicator.

  • Publication number: 20190007872
Abstract: A wireless device 230 and a method therein for triggering a cell reselection procedure. The wireless device is served by a first Radio Network Node (RNN) 210, and the wireless device and the first RNN are operating in a wireless communications system 200. The wireless device determines a difference between a second signal parameter of a second signal and a first signal parameter of a first signal, wherein the first and second signal parameters are received from the first RNN. Further, the wireless device triggers a cell reselection procedure when the determined difference is larger than a first predetermined threshold value for the cell reselection procedure.

  • Publication number: 20180376472
Abstract: Embodiments include methods performed by a receiving device configured for operation in a communications network. The methods include receiving, from a transmitting device in the network, four bursts comprising a block mapped according to a selected block format, wherein the block comprises a plurality of data and header bits. In some embodiments, the block further comprises Stealing Flag bits and Uplink State Flag bits. The methods also include determining whether the selected block format corresponds to a first block format in which the plurality of data and header bits are repeated in a corresponding plurality of same first positions in all four bursts. The methods also include demodulating the plurality data and header bits based on the determination of whether the selected block format corresponds to the first block format. Embodiments also include receiving devices comprising a receiver and a processor configured to perform operations corresponding to the exemplary methods.

  • Patent number: 10159077
Abstract: A sending node sends information to a receiving node. Said nodes are comprised in a wireless communication network. Communication between said nodes is associated with a first cell. The sending node obtains predefined scrambling for scrambling the information and which predefined scrambling is specific for the first cell. The receiving node correspondingly obtains de-scrambling. The sending node sends, to the receiving node, the information repeatedly a certain number of times, wherein each time the information is sent it is scrambled differently based on the obtained scrambling. Each time the information is received by the receiving node it is de-scrambled differently based on the obtained de-scrambling.

  • Publication number: 20180332484
Abstract: A Radio Network Node (RNN) and a method therein for providing improved robustness of a radio link between the RNN and a wireless device. The RNN and the wireless device operate in a communications network. The RNN transmits, towards the wireless device, a transmission with a first transmission mode associated with a first level of coverage extension. When a first period of time has elapsed, the RNN transmits, towards the wireless device, the transmission using a second transmission mode associated with a second level of coverage extension. The second level of coverage extension is higher than the first level of coverage extension.

  • Patent number: 10117227
Abstract: A method, performed by a wireless communication system (100), a method and node therein are provided for managing operation of multiple Radio Access Technologies, “RATS”. A first type of wireless devices (120) is enabled to communicate wirelessly in the wireless communication system (100) according to a first RAT, via one or more base stations (110). In the first RAT, resource blocks for uplink and/or downlink communication are allocated according to a predetermined multiple access structure based on frequency division and/or time division. The wireless communication system (100) excludes (701) for allocation to the first type of wireless devices (120) one or more of said resource blocks of the first RAT. The wireless communication system (100) further allocates (702) said excluded one or more resource blocks of the first RAT for use by a second type of wireless devices (121) and for wireless communication according to a second RAT, via said one or more base stations.

  • Patent number: 10098126
Abstract: Method performed by a transmitting device for transmitting a block to a receiving device, both devices operating in a wireless communications network. The block comprises four bursts, which further comprise fields for Uplink State Flags (USF), Stealing Flags (SF), and data/header bits. In a first block format, USF and SF fields are interleaved and mapped over the four bursts, while data/header fields are interleaved over one burst but repeated over the four bursts. The data/header fields are overlapping with and overridden by bits from the USF field in different positions in each burst. The receiving device can receive the transmitted block and, if it is determined that the block format corresponds to the first block format, can correct a frequency offset of the receiving device in relation to the transmitting device based on the plurality of data/header bits received in at least one pair of consecutive bursts.
