    Abstract: Disclosed is a supporting unit for a bike carrier. The supporting unit is configured for fixedly holding a mounting portion mountable to the fork of a bike instead of a wheel or being formed by a part other than the wheel of the bike to be transported, for example by a portion of the fork of the bike. The supporting unit comprises a locking mechanism for receiving the mounting portion and to be transferable between a locking state in which the mounting portion is non-releasably fixed on the supporting unit and an unlocking state in which the mounting portion is dismountable from the supporting unit. The locking mechanism is lockable by receiving a force from the mounting portion upon inserting the mounting portion into the supporting unit so that the locking mechanism is transferable into the locking state by the force exerted on the locking mechanism by the mounting portion.

The tensioning device includes a torque limiting mechanism which is adapted to limit the amount of transferable torque. The torque limiting mechanism includes a first torque transmission member and a second torque transmission member. The first torque transmission member is biased into working cooperation with the second torque transmission member such that upon a torque threshold value, the first and second torque transmission members are disengaged from working cooperation so that a torque limiting function is provided. An activation member is associated with the first torque transmission member, which enables a user to operate the first torque transmission member to transfer torque to the second torque transmission member.

    Abstract: For cleaning the top surfaces of railway rails, a vehicle (1) carried on rails, and has scrapers, looseners, and rotatable brushes. In case of wet rail, the scrapers are used to make the top surfaces of the rails dry. The looseners are used to loosen up encrustments located on the top surfaces of the rails after which the encrustments are removed by the aid of the brushes means from the top surfaces of the rails (4). The scrapers and the looseners are carried by slewing brackets connected with the chassis of the vehicle and the brushes are carried by telescopic supports connected to the chassis of the vehicle. The scrapers, looseners and brushes are operable between an inactive position of repose and an active working position. The vehicle it can be used for cleaning of rails in both directions of travel.
