    Abstract: An interface between an SS7 gateway and an IP network allows application layer data, such as MAP and TCAP messages, to be transported unchanged through the interface. The invention also provides a protocol for transporting MAP and TCAP messages that eliminates the need for SS7 protocols, and in particular, eliminates the need to implement the Signaling Connection Control Part (SCCP). The interface is particularly useful for connecting a private wireless office system to an SS7 network to allow roaming between the private wireless office telephone system and the PLMN.

    Abstract: A plastic encapsulated optomodule is provided which includes a leadframe, an optoelectric component, an electric component, and an optical connection interface integrated in the capsule. The electric component is connected electrically to the leadframe. The electric component and the optoelectric component are mutually connected electrically and the optoelectric component and the integrated connection interface are connected together via at least one optical waveguide. The electric component is provided on a first part of the leadframe and electric contact surfaces (80) are provided on leads (5a and 5b) in the leadframe (1). The optoelectric component is provided on a second part of the leadframe and the optical connection interface arranged on an optodevice is connected to a third part of the leadframe. The optodevice is aligned by alignment elements provided on the leadframe and the leadframe includes alignment elements that conform with corresponding alignment elements on a plastic-encapsulation mold tool.

    Abstract: In the connection of a number of telephone sets to a private branch exchange, control information is communicated between the telephone sets and the exchange set in such a way that a bidirected conversion unit is required. In order to provide a high degree of service at a reasonable cost the telephone sets are collected in groups which share a generally smaller number of conversion units. By way of suitable control devices and switch units in the forwarding of control information, a suitable non-occupied conversion unit can be selected.

    Abstract: An anchorable, floating platform intended to be used for extraction of oil and gas from the bottom of the sea and comprising an upper portion over the water surface, a lower portion under the water surface, and a column which connects the upper portion with the lower portion and which is designed to allow transportation of persons between the two portions. The lower portion is surrounded by a ring of ballast tanks which extend below the lower portion, so that a bowlshaped space is formed between the ballast tanks and the lower portion, and anchor wires are arranged to pass the ring of ballast tanks for holding the platform.
