  • Publication number: 20170094562
Abstract: A radio device applies a carrier frequency for transmission of data between the radio device and a base station of a cellular network. Further, the radio device configures a measurement time interval in which the radio device temporarily switches from the transmission of data to receiving at least one broadcast signal conveying system information from the base station. Based on the received at least one broadcast signal, the radio device estimates an offset of the carrier frequency as applied by the radio device to a frequency of a carrier signal as received from the base station.

  • Patent number: 9596586
Abstract: The invention is directed to systems, methods and computer program products for scanning frequency bands at a device in order to find a network. An exemplary method comprises substantially simultaneously scanning a first frequency band using a first receive chain in the device and a second frequency band using a second receive chain in the device; determining, based on priority information accessed by the device, whether a first network found on the first frequency band has priority over a second network found on the second frequency band; and determining whether to connect the device to the first network or the second network based on determining whether the first network has priority over the second network.

  • Patent number: 9596103
Abstract: A user-device implemented method includes encoding a first digital signal to generate a first digital baseband signal and modulate the first digital baseband signal to generate one or more RF signals corresponding to one or more frequency bands. The one or more RF signals are transmitted via one or more antennas. Substantially simultaneously with the transmission of the one or more RF signals, a second one or more RF signals is received via the one or more antennas. The second one or more RF signals are demodulated to generate a second digital baseband signal. The first digital baseband signal is subtracted from the second digital baseband signal to generate a modified second digital baseband signal.

  • Publication number: 20160286602
Abstract: The invention is directed to systems, methods and computer program products for discontinuous signaling in a mobile communication network. User equipment (UE)/mobile terminal requests slotted transmissions and, in response to the network authorizing slotted transmissions, communication of subsequent UE transmissions are slotted, such that a minimum time period is required to elapse between each UE transmission. In specific embodiments of the invention the minimum time period is a predetermined time period known in advance to the user equipment and network. In other embodiments of the invention the user equipment slotted transmission requests includes a requested minimum time period, which may be approved or revised by the network. In still further embodiments the network, upon receiving the request for slotted transmissions, determines the minimum time period.

  • Publication number: 20160286576
Abstract: First reoccurring resources on a radio interface of a cellular network (100) are allocated and shared between communication devices (121-125) assigned to a first set (151). Second reoccurring resources on the radio interface are allocated and shared between communication devices (121-125) assigned to a second set (152). A control message is sent, the control message indicating the first reoccurring resources and the second reoccurring resources. The control message may optionally be sent employing a broadcast transmission (110).

  • Publication number: 20160286567
Abstract: First reoccurring resources on a radio link of a cellular network are allocated to the first relaying channel. Second reoccurring resources on the radio link are allocated to a second relaying channel. The first reoccurring resources are shared between communication devices assigned to a first set; the second reoccurring resources are shared between communication devices assigned to a second set. The first reoccurring resources, in some embodiments, may be orthogonal to the second reoccurring resources.
