A tangible token that comprises a diamond gemstone that is affixed to the integrated circuit or a package into which the integrated circuit is mounted is used to form diamond-based read-only memory that stores information pertaining to the integrated circuit. The integrated circuit may perform an authentication operation using the stored information and a security database. Based on a result of the authentication operation, the integrated circuit may perform one or more security operations.
