Patent number: 9919659Abstract: A vehicle seat may include a seatback, a cover, a housing, arms and a plate. The cover is connected to the seatback at a hinge and is rotatable relative to the seatback between first and second positions to open and close a recess formed in a rearward-facing surface of the seatback. The housing is movably attached to the cover. The arms are movably connected to the housing. Each arm may include a body, a gripping flange extending from an end of the body, and a protrusion extending from the body. The plate is rotatably mounted to the housing and includes a plurality of grooves. Each groove slidably receives a corresponding one of the protrusions such that rotation of the plate in a first direction causes movement of the arms toward each other and rotation of the plate in a second direction causes movement of the arms away from each other.Type: GrantFiled: December 22, 2015Date of Patent: March 20, 2018Assignee: FCA US LLCInventors: Brian L Kipp, Omar Cinco

Patent number: 9156386Abstract: An armrest assembly may include a base member, an armrest member, and a brake mechanism. The armrest member may be linearly movable relative to the base member between a first position and a second position. The brake mechanism may include first and second brake members. The first brake member may be fixed relative to the base member. The second brake member may be movable with the armrest member relative to the base member and may be movable relative to the first brake member between an engaged position restricting relative movement between the armrest member and the base member and a disengaged position allowing relative movement between the armrest member and the base member. The first and second brake members may be engageable with each other at any of an infinite number of positions between the first and second positions.Type: GrantFiled: December 19, 2011Date of Patent: October 13, 2015Assignee: FCA US LLCInventor: Omar Cinco

Patent number: 9022466Abstract: An armrest assembly may include a base member, an armrest member, a mechanism and a biasing member. The armrest member may be linearly movable relative to the base member between a first position and a second position. The mechanism may be associated with the armrest member and may be movable between an engaged configuration restricting linear movement of the armrest member relative to the base member and a disengaged configuration allowing linear movement of the armrest member relative to the base member. The biasing member may bias the armrest member in a linear direction from the second position toward the first position.Type: GrantFiled: December 19, 2011Date of Patent: May 5, 2015Assignee: FCA US LLCInventor: Omar Cinco

Publication number: 20140152026Abstract: A modular latch assembly for selectively securing a cover member to a base due to actuation of an input member is disclosed. The latch assembly includes an arm that is supported for substantially linear movement between a latched position and an unlatched position. The arm secures the cover member to the base when in the latched position, and the arm releases the cover member from the base when in the unlatched position. Moreover, the latch assembly includes a link that is operably coupled to the arm for rotation relative to the arm simultaneously as the arm moves between the latched and unlatched positions. The arm and the link have a first modular configuration in which the input member engages the arm for unlatching the assembly and a second modular configuration in which the input member engages the link for unlatching the assembly.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 30, 2012Publication date: June 5, 2014Inventor: Omar Cinco

Publication number: 20090302628Abstract: An assembly for a vehicle convenience unit having a cupholder and storage container that facilitates a lid to one of engage and disengage the storage container when the convenience unit is pivoted, militating against container spillage, by the use of a damping link arm. The assembly comprises a housing, a hinged convenience unit, a storage container lid, and a link arm.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 9, 2008Publication date: December 10, 2009Inventor: Omar Cinco
