  • Publication number: 20240238023
Abstract: Embodiments are directed to a bone wax delivery tool for arthroscopic procedures. The bone wax delivery tool can include a cannula defining an inner cavity configured to hold a bone wax material and a plunger that extends along the inner cavity of the cannula. The plunger can include an end portion configured to contact the bone wax material and be configured to move between a first position and a second position within the cannula. The bone wax delivery tool can include an actuation mechanism coupled to the plunger. The actuation mechanism can cause the plunger to move from the first position to the second position and expel an amount of the bone wax material from the cannula in response to actuation and cause the plunger to move from the second position to the first position in response to release of the actuation mechanism.

  • Publication number: 20240122632
Abstract: Embodiments are directed to an orthopedic nail that includes a collar having a sidewall defining a first opening extending from the first end to the second end along a first axis of the collar, a second opening configured to engage with an orthopedic fastener, first engagement features positioned at the first end of the first opening, and second engagement features positioned at a second end of the first opening. The orthopedic nail can include a shaft defining a third opening positioned adjacent to the first end of the shaft and configured to allow the orthopedic fastener to pass through the shaft, and third engagement features positioned between the third opening and a second end of the shaft. The third engagement features can be configured to rotationally couple to the second engagement features. The orthopedic nail can include a locking mechanism that is configured to couple to the engagement features.

  • Publication number: 20240058139
Abstract: Tools and methods for use in arthroscopic bone grafting procedures, for example. A bone grafting tool can include a cannulated shaft having a first and second sections, where the first and second section may define a flow path between a first end and a second end of the shaft. The bone grafting tool can include a shaped head coupled to the second section at the second end of the shaft. The head can include an aperture in flow communication with the second section, where the aperture may be positioned at or near normal to an axis of the second section. The second section can be coupled to the first section at an angle, and the first end of the shaft can include means for attachment to a syringe containing bone grafting material to be used in the disclosed methods.

  • Publication number: 20230338072
Abstract: Embodiments are directed to an orthopedic fixation system that includes first and second plates each defining a clamp positioned at an end of the plate and comprising a first hole, a body portion extending from the clamp and comprising one or more holes, and one or more raised features positioned along the body portion. The clamp of the first plate is configured to couple with the body portion of the second plate. The first hole is configured to align with a second hole of the one or more holes. The first and second plates are rigidly coupled when an orthopedic screw engages with the first hole and the second hole and are coupled to a user.

  • Publication number: 20230277225
Abstract: Embodiments are directed to an orthopedic nail that includes a shaft extending from a first end to a second end and defining one or more openings positioned proximate to the first end. Each opening can accept an orthopedic screw. The shaft can also define a first retention feature positioned proximate to the second end. The orthopedic nail can include a collar that couples to the shaft and defines one or more openings each configured to accept an orthopedic screw. The collar can define a second retention feature that engages with the first retention feature, where the first and second retention features allow the collar to be rotated with respect to the shaft and prevent the collar from decoupling from the shaft. The orthopedic nail can include a lock coupled to the collar and configured to engage with the shaft to prevent rotation of the collar with respect to the shaft.

  • Publication number: 20220395269
Abstract: Embodiments include a suture management device including a disk shaped body that defines a top surface that faces away from a body of a patient when the suture management device is coupled to a sleeve of an arthroscopic cannula inserted into the body and a bottom surface that faces toward the body when the suture management device is coupled to the arthroscopic cannula. The suture management device can include a connector configured to couple the disk shaped body to an arthroscopic cannula, and a set of retention features positioned along the disk shaped body, each retention feature in the set of retention features configured to releasably secure a suture.

  • Publication number: 20210038255
Abstract: A slotted cannula for surgical procedures is disclosed. The slotted cannula has an elongated semi-circular body comprising a cavity extending along a longitudinal axis of the semi-circular body, the cavity having an open distal end and an open proximate end and an integrally formed outward bend extending curvilinear from the cavity on the proximate end and at least one fold line across the width of the cannula, perpendicular to the longitudinal axis. The cannula can be bent or broken along the at least one fold line to adjust the operable length of the cannula during a surgical procedure.
