Abstract: There are provided a computerized tournament game system and a method of operating of the system. The method includes a) obtaining via the registration interface requests from a plurality of users for registration to a commenced tournament characterized by certain parameters thus giving rise to a plurality of registration requests to the commenced tournament; b) testing, with a help of the computer, if the plurality of registration requests matches a predefined criterion, c) upon matching the predefined criterion, substantially concurrently initiating two or more active tournaments characterized by the same parameters as the commenced tournament; and d) assigning, with a help of the computer, the requests comprised in the plurality of registration requests to the initiated active tournaments in a manner enabling distribution of assignments between all concurrently initiated active tournaments, the assigning provided in accordance with predefined assigning rules.

Abstract: A method for playing a game tournament having a progressive prize of an initial value, a minimal required number of players, at least one qualifying criteria, and a predetermined number of consecutive results complying with the at least one qualifying criteria required in order to win the progressive prize or part thereof, said method comprising: the required number of players providing payment including an ante to be added to the progressive prize; playing at least one tournament of the game until an at least one player achieves an at least one qualifying criteria; the at least one player winning the progressive prize or part thereof if he or she met the at least one qualifying criteria for at least the predetermined number of consecutive tournaments.

Abstract: In the preferred embodiments, systems and methods for placing bets using Internet/World Wide Web technology are provided. Preferably, a user can either join a pool where a number of people bet on a specific event or can participate in one-to-one betting. If the pool option is selected, the user selects a pool of interest, contributes to the pool, and later receives the proceeds (or a portion thereof), if his/her bet is successful. Furthermore, a user is provided with a capability to define a pool associated with his/her event of interest so that it would be available for the other users to join and bet. If the one-to-one option is selected, a user may either find an existing bet offered by another user and place a counter-bet, preferably also with an option of specifying the odds, or, if no bets of interest are available, a user can define his/her own bet with associated odds.
