  • Publication number: 20140217953
Abstract: A waste heat recovery system of a vehicle generally comprises a heat source, an air-passage body, and a heat-preservation container. The heat source is provided with a pipe. The air-passage body is coupled to the pipe. The air-passage body defines therein a chamber and at least one passage communicating with the chamber, wherein the chamber communicates with the pipe for collecting the waste heat energy transferred by the pipe. The heat-preservation container, being placed above the air-passage body, communicates with the passage of the air-passage body and is provided with multiple heat-transfer elements therein. With the waste heat recovery system, the waste heat energy can be transferred via air from the heat source to the container to enable the container to keep at a lower temperature for food or articles required to be warmed. Furthermore, the waste heat energy enables a conversion module in the chamber to generate electrical power.

  • Publication number: 20140219124
Abstract: Aircrafts flying near Earth or naval vessels are used as active scattering platforms in a multipath communications channel in MIMO communications systems. These man-made platforms in a communications channel, with techniques of beam forming and wavefront multiplexing in both transmitters at source and receivers at destinations enhance the ability to coherently combine the power of the communication signals, and improve the signal-to-noise ratio in addition to the MIMO advantage of multiple times of channel capacity over a finite bandwidth via frequency reuse. These platforms may be stationary, mobile ground based, or ocean surface based. They may also be airborne, or space borne. A swarm of 10's micro-UAV based mini-transponders is an example through active scattering of these micro-UAV to generate 10× more available bandwidth between a base station and ground mobile users over same bandwidth.

  • Publication number: 20140220042
Abstract: The invention pertains to the generation and utility of antibodies that can bind effectively to C?mX domain on membrane-bound IgE (mIgE) expressed on the surface of human B lymphocytes. The C?mX domain of 52 amino acid residues, located between the CH4 domain and the C-terminal membrane-anchor peptide on human membrane-bound epsilon chain, had been suggested as an antigenic site for immunological targeting of B cells expressing mIgE. Previous reported monoclonal antibodies, including a20, which bind to RADWPGPP (SEQ ID NO:1) peptide at the C-terminal of C?mX, have now been found to bind poorly to mIgE on human B cells. We have discovered that only monoclonal antibodies specific for certain segments, such as GLAGGSAQSQRAPDRVL (SEQ ID NO:2) and HSGQQQGLPRAAGGSVPHPR (SEQ ID NO:3), of C?mX can bind effectively to mIgE on human B cells and hence have the utility for targeting those B cells for the treatment of diseases mediated by IgE.
