  • Patent number: 10315004
Abstract: A catheter support comprising a pliant tubular structure of rigidity greater than the penis including a region surrounding the penis shaft, a region surrounding the penis head, and a substantially closed end having an aperture aligned with the penis terminal opening through which the catheter is received. The catheter support limits or eliminates catheter movement substantially radial to the axis of the catheter and thus radially against the inner opening if the penis head, substantially reducing or eliminating abrasion or other insult to the penis surfaces and tissue that interface with the catheter. One embodiment comprises 2 substantially identical elongated halves having longitudinal recesses and hinged together to close around the penis end and catheter providing the catheter support in a structure having improved comfort and wearability.

  • Patent number: 9453782
Abstract: A system and method for detecting air-fuel ratio rich-lean imbalance in an automotive engine cylinder is provided. The system and the method are configured to receive an oxygen sensor voltage of an oxygen sensor. They also include filtering the oxygen sensor voltage to create a filtered oxygen sensor voltage. An engine speed and load are determined, and an air-fuel ratio imbalance detection threshold is determined based on the engine speed and the engine load. A rich-lean imbalance status is determined, the rich-lean imbalance status being non-normal if any portion of the filtered oxygen sensor voltage exceeds the air-fuel ratio imbalance detection threshold, and the rich-lean imbalance status being normal if none of the filtered oxygen sensor voltage exceeds the air-fuel ratio imbalance detection threshold. An engine control unit having several control logics to execute similar steps is also provided.

  • Patent number: 9336323
Abstract: The delivery of content is improved from a user's perspective by encouraging the cache of user devices to maintain more current data prior to requesting web pages that would invoke the download of the more current data. A cache simulation of the cache in the user devices is maintained. When objects within the cache simulator are expected to require updating, actions are taken to encourage the user device to update the cache. The actions include modifying markup language files that are downloaded to the user device to invoke the update. For instance, artificial URL's that request the updated objects, embedded scripts, user selection objects, or the like are used to invoke an update process.

  • Patent number: 9026257
Abstract: Operation of a hydropower generation facility may be optimized by consideration and analysis of multiple factors influencing function of the facility. Aspects of the facility and surrounding hydraulic system are represented in a model that may include efficiency curves for hydropower turbines. Efficiency curves for one or more turbines are approximated by piecewise linear functions. The use of piecewise linear representations allows for calculation of recommended operational settings as well as predicted outputs in real time. An optimization system may consider input data such as weather and market prices for electricity. The input data may also include desired operational outputs of the hydropower generation facility. A user interface may present recommendations for specific operational settings to achieve the desired operational outputs.
