    Abstract: The social networking system monitors implicit interactions between a user and objects of the social networking system with which the user has not established a connection. Based on the implicit interactions between the user and an object, the social networking system identifies a soft connection between the user and the object. The social networking system may then identify soft connections to include in a candidate list of soft connections to recommend to the user. The social networking system may also extract signals from the set of candidate list of soft connections, and may use the extracted signals to rank the soft connections in the list of candidate soft connections. The social networking system may then recommend soft connections to the user based on the rank associated with the soft connections in the candidate list of soft connections.

    Abstract: A system for flock-based control of a plurality of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). The flight plans are stored on the UAVs, and, during flight operations, each of the local control modules independently controls the corresponding UAV to execute its flight plan without ongoing control from the fleet manager module. The fleet manager module is operable to initiate flight operations by concurrently triggering initiation of the flight plans by the multiple UAVs. Further, the local control modules monitor front and back end communication channels and, when a channel is lost, operate the UAV in a safe mode.

A bucket scheme to track and retrieve these counts is described. The bucket system maintains a rolling count over a period of time. The bucket system comprises three different tiers, each containing buckets corresponding to different periods of time. When a new data item is received, one bucket in each tier is updated. The bucket is updated by generating a bucket address and initiating or incrementing a counter counting the number of times the data item was received. To retrieve the count over a specified period of time, the counters in a plurality of the buckets are read and aggregated.

The detector is used to detect a resonant frequency of the microwave when resonance occurs within the cavity. The computing module is configured for calculating a permittivity corresponding to the measured resonant frequency according to a corresponding relationship between resonant frequency and permittivity. The above-mentioned system for measuring a permittivity is capable of measuring a broader range of permittivity with simplified measurement steps and higher accuracy. A method for measuring a permittivity is also disclosed.
