  • Patent number: 9709651
Abstract: There is disclosed a novel system and method for improving MRI and DWI image quality and tissue detail and contrast is introduced and referred to in this disclosure as “compensated magnetic resonance imaging” or CMRI in which a compensation function and noise scale factor are determined during a calibration process by acquiring one or more test signals on the MRI system to determine a compensation function and noise scale factor, and signal acquisitions are conducted from a subject, and the signals are then used to reconstruct MRI images by maximizing a quality metric that takes the acquired signals, compensation function, and noise scale factor as part of the input parameters. Advantageously, by taking into a compensation function and a noise scale factor, CMRI can provide significantly improved MRI image quality and tissue detail and contrast.

  • Patent number: 9710450
Abstract: To recombine incorrectly separated tokens in NLP, a determination is made whether a token from an ordered set of tokens is present in a dictionary related to a corpus from which the ordered set is extracted. When the token is not present in the dictionary, and when a compounding threshold has not been reached, the token is agglutinated with a next adjacent token in the ordered set to form the compound token. The compounding threshold limits a number of tokens that can be agglutinated to form a compound token. A determination is made whether the compound token is present in the dictionary. A weight is assigned to the compound token when the compound token is present in the dictionary and a confidence rating of the compound token is computed as a function of the weight. The compound token and the confidence rating are used in NLP of the corpus.

  • Patent number: 9713120
Abstract: A method for reducing paging traffic between a gateway (GW) and plural base stations (BSs) is provided when paging user equipments (UEs). A cache map, which records most-recently visited BSs of selected UEs, is used to limit the number of BSs in the paging of each selected UE, thereby reducing paging traffic. Furthermore, paging requests sent to the same BS node are grouped into one batch in generating a transport-layer payload, reducing the number of generated transport-layer messages. When used in a LTE system, piggybacking paging requests as provided by the SCTP reduces paging traffic and windowing/congestion control overhead at the transport layer. Transmission efficiency is thus improved. In addition, the number of paging requests sent out by the GW node per one paging interval is controlled to be not greater than a pre-determined maximum value to further limit paging traffic for avoiding occurrence of a paging storm.

  • Patent number: 9710124
Abstract: An example method includes determining a region of interest of an interactive display. The method also includes determining a time since utilization of a user interface element exceeds a threshold. The method includes determining timing information for content in a region of the interactive display other than the region of interest, determining the content is stale based on the timing information exceeding a threshold, and removing the content from the interactive display based on the content being stale. The method includes automatically moving the user interface element progressively over a period of time from an initial location to the region other than the region of interest. The method further includes providing another user interface element capable of selecting a previous time since utilization, receiving input selecting the previous time since utilization, and moving the user interface element to a historic location associated with the previous time since utilization.
