Abstract: A system including a dry absorbent tissue paper sheet dispenser having a dispensing opening through which dry tissue paper sheets can be withdrawn and a moist sheet dispenser having a dispensing opening through which moist sheets can be withdrawn, wherein one of the dry tissue paper dispenser and the moist sheet dispenser is configured to sit atop the other so that the dispensing openings face in opposing directions in a combined configuration, and wherein the dry and moist sheet dispensers have cooperating interfacing surfaces when they are in the combined configuration that resist movement of the moist sheet dispenser with respect to the dry tissue paper dispenser in a first direction perpendicular to a sheet withdrawal direction of the dry tissue paper dispenser and the moist dispenser.

Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for generating database access objects. Metadata associated with a database table is retrieved. The metadata includes a table name, column names, foreign key information, and/or primary key information. Objects are generated. Each object is associated with a corresponding row in the database table and includes fields associated with a corresponding column in the database table. A database access object is generated based on the metadata. The database access object includes relational database code to access data associated with the objects. The database access object is modified. Data associated with an object is accessed based on the modified database access object.

Abstract: A disposable capsule for preparing a beverage suitable for consumption from an extractable product includes a chamber for enclosing an inner space containing the extractable product and a displaceable body. The chamber includes an entrance area enabling passage of a fluid towards the inner space for interacting with the extractable product for preparing the beverage and an exit area for conducting at least a portion of the beverage away from the capsule. The displaceable body is movable with respect to the entrance area and the exit area for discontinuing the entrance area and the exit area thereby enabling the chamber to pass fluidum therethrough.

The method comprises: maintaining, in a memory connected to a first server, a first data store comprising a plurality of records representing one or more items at a production site; detecting an event at the first server, the event comprising an update to the first data store; in response to detecting the event, determining whether a further action is required to send at least one outgoing message to one or more of a second server and a third server; and, when the determination is affirmative, generating a the outgoing message and transmitting the message to the one or more of the second server and the third server.

Abstract: Collection user interface techniques are described. In one or more implementations, a plurality of inputs are recognized as gestures received via interaction with a user interface to navigate through a file system of a computing device and select representations of objects managed by file system of the computing device, at least two of which are accessible via different devices. In response, copies of the representations are displayed by the computing device in a collection portion of the user interface. An option is output in conjunction with the collection portion by the computing device that is selectable to initiate a command to be performed using the objects that have corresponding representations included in the collection portion.

Abstract: A system includes a receiver to receive content and an advertisement. The system further includes a cache, coupled to the receiver, to store the content and the advertisement. An interface in the receiver receives an updated advertisement and updating instructions, the updating instructions to enable the receiver to replace the stored advertisement with the updated advertisement. The receiver detects a starting point of the advertisement and creates a marker and inserts it into the content to indicate said starting point, and stores the advertisement from the content to a memory storage location separate from the content, and creates and stores a pointer to the memory location. The interface detects a user-initiated pause in the viewing of content, retrieves the updated advertisement from storage, and provides a user interface that enables the user to view the retrieved advertisement for as long as the viewing of the content remains paused.

Abstract: Disclosed is a newly identified secreted molecule, identified herein as “monocyte, granulocyte, and dendritic cell colony stimulating factor” (MGD-CSF), the polypeptide sequence, and polynucleotides encoding the polypeptide sequence. Also provided is a procedure for producing the polypeptide by recombinant techniques employing, for example, vectors and host cells. Additionally, procedures are described to modify the disclosed novel molecules of the invention to prepare fusion molecules. Also disclosed are methods for using the polypeptides and active fragments thereof for treatment of a variety of diseases, including, for example, cancer, autoimmune and inflammatory diseases, infectious diseases, and recurrent pregnancy loss.

Abstract: A conductive paint electromagnetic interference (EMI) shield for an electronic module or device. The conductive paint is composed of metal particles suspended in a fluidic carrier. In one embodiment, the conductive paint is sprayed onto exterior surfaces of an electronic module or device from a spray gun. The sprayed conductive paint is cured to remove the fluidic carrier, leaving a metal film coated to the outside of the module or device. In one embodiment used with electronic packages in array form, grooves are cut into an encapsulation material of a module so that the shield protection includes sidewalls of the package. In another embodiment used with camera modules, masking is used to selectively shield portions of the module. In a further embodiment, the shield is electrically connected to a ground conductor of a circuit of the electronic module.

Abstract: Provided herein are methods for preventing the reduction of disulfide bonds during the recombinant production of disulfide-containing polypeptides. In particular, the invention concerns the prevention of disulfide bond reduction during harvesting of disulfide-containing polypeptides, including antibodies, from recombinant host cell cultures.

Abstract: Techniques for incrementing counters in an efficient manner. In one set of embodiments, counter logic circuits are provided that can operate at higher frequencies than existing counter logic circuits, while being capable of being implemented in currently available field programmable gate arrays (FPGAs) or fabricated using currently available process technologies. The counter logic circuits of the present invention may be used to increment statistics counters in network devices that support line speeds of 40 Gbps, 100 Gbps, and greater.

Abstract: Devices and methods for minimizing a number of I/O pins needed to control LED and touch sense operations are described and disclosed herein. In an embodiment, a method comprises controlling at least one light emitting diode (LED) element via a single pin, and controlling at least one touch sense element via the single pin. In an embodiment, a touch-sensitive light emitting diode (LED) display device comprises at least one LED element, at least one touch sense element, and a controller integrated in an integrated circuit (IC) and coupled to the at least one LED element and the at least one touch sense element via a single pin. The controller is configured to communicate via the pin with the at least one LED element and the at least one touch sense element.

Abstract: A reusable foldable box is disclosed that has a first flat configuration and a second three dimensional configuration. The box consists of a first set and a set of panels that are assembled to form the foldable box. The first set of panels includes at least six panels that are foldably coupled in a predefined sequence. The first set includes a top panel, bottom panel, a pair of side panels, a lip panel and a securing panel. The first set of panels forms a single piece construction to which the side panels of the second set of panels are coupled with triangular inward connectors.

Abstract: Altitude control of a toy flying vehicle intended for indoor hovering flight comprises providing a selected altitude level for the vehicle. A position control signal is transmitted from the vehicle towards a surface. A receiver in the vehicle receives the signal reflected from the surface. A level of the reflected signal by the receiver is determined, and a change of the reflected signal is an indicator of a change of altitude of the vehicle relative to the selected altitude level. The vehicle receiver communicates with the remote controller, and the remote controller can adjust and control speed and direction of the vehicle.

Abstract: In accordance with embodiments, there are provided mechanisms and methods for providing apportioning of opportunity among campaigns in an on-demand service in a database system. These mechanisms and methods for providing apportioning of opportunity among campaigns can enable embodiments to automatically determine which campaigns are related to an opportunity and provide a filtered set of campaigns that are related to at least one opportunity. The ability of embodiments to apportion opportunity among campaigns can provide marketing information that accurately reflects the true relationship between an opportunity and a plurality of campaigns.

Abstract: A test system includes a master server and a plurality of client servers, the master server includes a test file management module. The test file management module sets authorizations for different users, receives and transforms first test files from a special format into a common format, generates a plurality of second test files to define a plurality of tests using the common format first test files, distributes the second test files to the client servers, controls a process of each test to obtain test result, and records and analyzes test result of each test. The present disclosure also provides a test method using the test system.

Abstract: A spinning force system and methods of operation are provided for measuring a characteristic of a sample. The system includes a detection module having a light source for illuminating the sample and an objective being aligned to the light source to define a light path for producing an image of the sample. A rotor is mechanically coupled to the detection module and configured to rotate the light path for applying a force to the sample. The force may include a centrifugal force and other forms of force (such as a viscous drag force) resulted from the rotation. In some examples, the force is applied in a direction that is not parallel to a surface of the sample.

Abstract: Embodiments of the invention provide techniques for translating text in a social network. In one embodiment translations of text phrases are received from members of the social network. These text phrases include content displayed in a social networking system, such as content from social networking objects. A particular member is provided with content including a text phrase in a first language, and the member requests translation into another language. Responsive to this request, a translation of the text phrase is selected from a set of available translations. The selection is based on actions by friends of the member in the social network, the actions being associated with the set of available translations. These actions can the viewing of or approval of translations by the friends, for example. The selected translation is then presented to the member requesting the translation.
