Abstract: The present disclosure describes a downhole tool including an electrically operated radiation generator that selectively output radiation to a surrounding environment based at least in part on supply of electrical power; and a control system that determines likelihood of exposing living beings in the surrounding environment to output radiation by determining whether one or more check conditions is met; determine that each of the one or more check conditions is met before instructing the electrically operated radiation generator to output radiation; and instruct the electrically operated radiation generator to cease output of radiation when at least one of the one or more check conditions is no longer met.

Abstract: Systems, methods, and devices for two-way communication with a downhole tool string are provided. In one example, a method may include placing a downhole tool string into a pressure riser of a well while at least one component of the downhole tool string is not activated. Thereafter, a wireless control signal may be issued through the pressure riser to the downhole tool to cause the downhole tool string to activate the component. The wireless control signal may involve an acoustic signal, an optical signal, and/or an electromagnetic signal such as electrical dipole coupling or magnetic dipole coupling.

Abstract: Systems, methods, and devices for two-way communication with a downhole tool string are provided. The at least one recorder allows to store operating data related to the determined sub-assembly. The stored operating data are extractable at least when the determined sub-assembly is disassembled from the downhole assembly.
