  • Patent number: 11885921
Abstract: Apparatus and methods are described, including identifying an arrival of a first arriving S-wave emitted from a seismic source at an array (120) of sensors (129, 140) in real-time, by continuously analyzing waveforms received by the sensors (120, 140), and continuously monitoring back-azimuth and slowness data within the detected waveforms. Arrival of a first arriving P-wave emitted from the seismic source at the array (120) of sensors (129, 140) is identified, based upon the back-azimuth and slowness data. Slowness and back azimuth of the first arriving P-wave are determined, by analyzing a waveform of the P-wave, and based upon the determined slowness of the first arriving P-wave, the arrival of the first arriving S-wave at the array (120) of sensors (129, 140) is identified. Other applications are also described.

  • Publication number: 20240024109
Abstract: An implant may be affixed to a cardiac valve annulus by an apparatus that includes a catheter with a first actuatable bending section and a support structure affixed to the distal end of the catheter. Support arms extend distally beyond the support structure. In some embodiments, a shaft with a second actuatable bending section is permanently positioned between the support arms, and an inflatable balloon surrounds at least a portion of the shaft. In other embodiments, a subassembly that includes a shaft with a second actuatable bending section and an inflatable balloon is slidably mounted so that it can move from an initial position that is spaced apart from the support structure to a second position where the balloon is between the at least four support arms. In either case, actuating the second bending section when the balloon is inflated will move the support arms that support the implant.

  • Publication number: 20240021062
Abstract: Target monitoring and alert systems for identifying and tracking targets within radar data. Raw frame data is filtered to remove data relating to reflections from static objects. Moving targets are identified in the filtered data and their location is tracked over time generating target data. Neural networks may process the target data, calculate a fall likelihood score and generate a fall-alert if this is above an alert-threshold. A person identification module may extract the position and motion characteristics of each target from the data and generate a probabilistic identification of the target with a person.

  • Patent number: 11867645
Abstract: In one embodiment, a system and a method for inspecting a substance to detect and identify predetermined foreign element(s) in the substance. The foreign element may carry X-ray responding material compositions, emitting X-ray signals in response to primary exciting X-ray or Gamma-ray radiation. The inspection is performed during a relative displacement between the substance and an inspection zone, defined by an overlap region between a solid angle of emission of an X-ray/Gamma-ray source and a solid angle of detection of X-ray radiation, along a movement path, as the substance moves along the movement path, the detected X-ray radiation includes X-ray response signals from successive portions of the substance propagating towards, through, and out of the overlap region. Measured data indicative of X-ray response signals is analyzed to identify a signal variation pattern over time indicative of a location of at least one foreign element carrying an X-ray responsive marker.

  • Patent number: 11866080
Abstract: A signal aspect enforcement method for a rail vehicle includes determining if vehicle position is unknown. The system determines if rail vehicle speed is less than a line-of-sight threshold speed. The system determines the grade of the rail. A worst-case braking distance of rail vehicle is calculated. The signal aspect is determined using a camera system and a beacon system. The system determines if the signal aspect determined by camera system is same as signal aspect determined by beacon system and, if so, determines the route of rail vehicle and speed limit of rail vehicle.

  • Publication number: 20240005099
Abstract: Techniques are disclosed relating to weakly supervised machine learning, which may be employed when there is a limited amount of labeled data available. A computer system may generate respective sets of synthetic labels for unlabeled data for a classification problem, where a given set of synthetic labels is produced by a corresponding one of a plurality of different label models. The computer system may then fit a set of supervised models, where each supervised model is fitted with one of the respective sets of synthetic labels to produce a respective set of predictions. The computer system may then evaluate the set of supervised models based on their respective set of predictions and using a set of labeled data for the classification problem. The evaluation may be used to select a particular supervised model and its corresponding label model.
