  • Publication number: 20120188446
Abstract: A verbal description method and system. A computing system broadcasts first audio data and video data associated with the first audio data. The computing system determines that the video data comprises a graphic without a description in the first audio data. The computing system receives audible description data associated with the graphic. The computing system generates second audio data comprising the first audio data and the audible description data. The computing system synchronizes portions of the second audio data with associated portions of the video data. • Publication number: 20120053980
Abstract: Techniques are disclosed for facilitating coordination of user activities in accordance with information processing systems and, more particularly, to techniques for managing encounters with persons using such information processing systems. For example, a method for facilitating user coordination of one or more activities comprises the following steps. User personal preference input for managing an encounter with at least one other person is accepted. Input of at least one user schedule entry is received. Schedule entries of the at least one other person are evaluated and it is automatically determined whether there is an overlap between the at least one user schedule entry and the schedule entries of the at least one other person. A response to a determined overlap is automatically determined. The user personal preference input may comprise an indication of whether the user wishes to avoid an encounter with the at least one other person or coordinate an encounter with the at least one other person.

  • Patent number: 8103511
Abstract: An audio file generation method and system. A computing system receives a first audio file comprising first speech data associated with a first party. The computing system receives a second audio file comprising second speech data associated with a second party. The first audio file differs from the second audio file. The computing system generates a third audio file from the second audio file. The third audio file differs from the second audio file. The process to generate the third audio file includes identifying a first set of attributes missing from the second audio file and adding the first set of attributes to the second audio file. The process to generate the third audio file additionally includes removing a second set of attributes from the second audio file. • Publication number: 20120016674
Abstract: Techniques are disclosed for modifying speech quality in a conversation over a voice channel. For example, a method for modifying a speech quality associated with a spoken utterance transmittable over a voice channel comprises the following steps. The spoken utterance is obtained prior to an intended recipient of the spoken utterance receiving the spoken utterance. An existing speech quality of the spoken utterance is determined. The existing speech quality of the spoken utterance is compared to at least one desired speech quality associated with at least one previously obtained spoken utterance to determine whether the existing speech quality substantially matches the desired speech quality. At least one characteristic of the spoken utterance is modified to change the existing speech quality of the spoken utterance to the desired speech quality when the existing speech quality does not substantially match the desired speech quality.

  • Publication number: 20110197575
Abstract: Hydraulic transmission apparatus including a pressurized fluid source and at least one hydraulic motor fed by said pressurized fluid source. The motor has two motor ducts for feed/discharge, and one casing duct. The motor can be operated in assisted mode, in which it generates torque or in unassisted mode in which it does not generate any torque and its pistons are maintained in the retracted position under the effect of the pressure in the casing duct. The apparatus further includes an accumulator suitable for feeding: the motor ducts during a stage of passing from the unassisted mode to the assisted mode in order to facilitate deployment of the pistons; and the casing duct during a stage of passing from the assisted mode to the unassisted mode in order to facilitate retraction of the pistons. This apparatus thus enables the motor to be positively clutched/declutched quickly.

  • Publication number: 20110197574
Abstract: A hydraulic transmission system for a vehicle, the system including: a main pump serving to feed with fluid at least one hydraulic motor for driving a vehicle mover member; an auxiliary pump, the main pump and the auxiliary pump being suitable for being actuated jointly by drive means; and a “bypass” connection between a delivery orifice of the auxiliary pump and an unpressurized reservoir. First constriction means, arranged on the bypass connection, maintain a pump protection pressure in a pump protection portion of the bypass connection; this pressure is applied to the main orifices of the main pump when said pump is actuated but is not delivering, thereby ensuring that the pump is protected.

  • Patent number: 7934264
Abstract: Using metadata to detect alteration of data. A first set of metadata characteristics including at least one respective semantic description are recorded for a first set of data representing original data. A second set of metadata characteristics including at least one corresponding semantic description are recorded for a second set of data representing data under test. The first and second sets of metadata characteristics are compared. If the first and second sets of metadata characteristics are not identical, these sets are processed to identify locations in the first set of data that have been altered. Using the at least one semantic description for the first set of data and the at least one corresponding semantic description for the second set of data, one or more metadata characteristics that have changed from the first set of data to the second set of data are identified.
