  • Publication number: 20100147696
Abstract: Consumer goods and industrial articles are electro-plated with bronze layers for decorative reasons and to protect them against corrosion. The electrolytes used hitherto for producing decorative bronze layers are either cyanide-containing or, as in the case of baths based on organosulphonic acids, highly corrosive or have, as in the case of cyanide-free baths based on diphosphoric acid, unsatisfactory long-term stabilities. Electrolytes which are used for applying solderable bronze layers in the electronics industry usually contain toxic or very toxic thio compounds. The present invention provides a non-toxic electrolyte which displays long-term stability for the electrolytic deposition of decorative bronze layers and a corresponding process for the application of such decorative bronze layers to consumer goods and industrial articles.

  • Patent number: 7736121
Abstract: Disclosed herein is a destacking device for dispensing planar food products, such as tortillas, from a stack bottom. In some embodiments of the invention, the device includes a frame and a carriage assembly configured for linear reciprocation with respect to the frame. The carriage assembly has a drum that rotates in response to linear reciprocation of the carriage assembly, and a suction lip is positioned proximal a wall of the drum. A stack of tortillas can be disposed on the suction lip, and a negative pressure is applied to close the suction lip and “suck” a bottommost tortilla against the lip. A movable arm has a leading edge for cooperating with the suction lip to separate the bottommost tortilla from a next bottommost tortilla. The drum rotates the suction lip and tortilla, and the vacuum is released to allow the tortilla to fall downwardly onto an endless belt.

  • Publication number: 20100139415
Abstract: A method for system- and/or process-monitoring in the case of an ultrasound flow measuring device having a plurality of measuring channels, wherein a medium flows though a pipeline or measuring tube in the direction of a longitudinal axis of the pipeline or measuring tube. Ultrasonic measuring signals are coupled into the pipeline or measuring tube and coupled out of the pipeline or measuring tube in such a way that they travel through the medium along different sound paths. Following passage through the pipeline or measuring tube, the ultrasonic measuring signals are detected in the individual measuring channels, wherein at least one actual quantity describing the ultrasonic measuring signal of each measuring channel is ascertained. The actual quantity is compared with a desired quantity captured under predetermined system- or process-conditions, and a report is output in the case of a difference between the ascertained, actual quantity and the captured, desired quantity.

  • Publication number: 20100145865
Abstract: RSNs are attached to equipment at construction sites. Gateways located and construction sites. A rental company uses presence data to know in real-time which of multiple yards specific equipment is located for meeting customer needs. At a renter's construction site, a gateway receives engine-hours data from RSNs associated with rental equipment and reports to the rental company, which uses the data to determine whether contract limits on use are exceeded and/or whether the equipment is abused. For sites not having a gateway, a truck-mounted gateway is used to periodically visit and collect data from the RSNs at each site. The data collected is sent to the rental company via cellular link. A construction company uses the system to track and monitor its own equipment in storage yards and on construction sites. Classes are assigned such that a rental company sees only the rented equipment. RSNs send theft and vandalism alarms.
