  • Publication number: 20240174219
Abstract: In various examples, a current claimed set of points representative of a volume in an environment occupied by a vehicle at a time may be determined. A vehicle-occupied trajectory and at least one object-occupied trajectory may be generated at the time. An intersection between the vehicle-occupied trajectory and an object-occupied trajectory may be determined based at least in part on comparing the vehicle-occupied trajectory to the object-occupied trajectory. Based on the intersection, the vehicle may then execute the first safety procedure or an alternative procedure that, when implemented by the vehicle when the object implements the second safety procedure, is determined to have a lesser likelihood of incurring a collision between the vehicle and the object than the first safety procedure.

  • Publication number: 20240176172
Abstract: An electro-absorption modulator (EAM) is configured to include an on-chip AC ground plane that is used to terminate the high frequency RF input signal within the chip itself. This on-chip ground termination of the modulation input signal improves the frequency response of the EAM, which is an important feature when the EAM needs to support data rates in excess of 50 Gbd. By virtue of using an on-chip ground for the very high frequency signal content, it is possible to use less expensive off-chip components to address the lower frequency range of the data signal (i.e., for frequencies less than about 1 GHz).

  • Publication number: 20240176712
Abstract: Recovery of a primary image is facilitated by using non-consistent snapshots on a primary storage array and consistent snapshots on a secondary storage array to avoid the need to transmit entire secondary replicas from the secondary storage array to the primary storage array. Non-consistent snaps of the primary replicas are generated by the primary storage array. Consistent snaps of the secondary replicas are generated by the secondary storage array. The primary replicas are recovered by linking non-consistent snaps to primary staging volumes, linking consistent snaps to secondary staging volumes, synchronizing the primary and secondary staging volumes, and using the synchronized primary staging volumes to recover the primary replicas.

  • Publication number: 20240174291
Abstract: A method is for influencing and/or operating a steering system, in particular a steer-by-wire steering system. In the method, a setpoint for an operating element actuator is determined independently of a setpoint for a steering gear actuator, and the operating element actuator is actuated depending on the setpoint for the operating element actuator. The setpoint for the steering gear actuator of the steering system is determined independently of the setpoint for the operating element actuator, and the steering gear actuator is actuated depending on the setpoint for the steering gear actuator. The setpoint for the operating element actuator is determined depending on a target value for a behavior of an operating element and depending on a first request value. The setpoint for the steering gear actuator is determined depending on a target value for a behavior of the steering gear actuator and depending on a second request value.
