  • Patent number: 12241565
Abstract: A method for preventing control-induced oscillations in a valve with a pneumatic actuator and position control with an integrating component, including the following steps: Checking whether oscillations of the valve member occur by counting the zero crossings or extreme values of the control difference. If oscillations were detected, it is checked whether they result from oscillations of the set point. If not, the dead zone is increased and/or the gain parameter is decreased. If no oscillations were detected, it is checked whether wear in the drive has exceeded a predetermined measure. If so, the dead zone is decreased and/or the gain parameter is increased. In this way, oscillations caused by the I-component of the control can be detected and stopped. Further changes to the parameters are only made when friction is expected to have decreased due to wear.

  • Patent number: 12239529
Abstract: Apparatuses, systems, and methods for providing improved intraocular lenses (IOLs) and other refractive treatment modalities involve fabricating the IOL or developing the treatment based on a refractive profile. Exemplary techniques include obtaining a base wavefront power profile corresponding to a theoretical lens, adding a second wavefront profile defined by the combination of one or more zones described by a cosine function to obtain a final wavefront power profile, determining a refractive profile based on the final wavefront power profile, and fabricating the intraocular lens or determining the treatment based on the refractive profile.

  • Publication number: 20250065212
Abstract: The present invention relates to a cheerleading training system. The cheerleading training system uses sensors implemented on training gloves to measure pressures imposed on cheerleaders' hands, as well as the acceleration of the cheerleaders' hands. Each training glove may have a microprocessor that contains target measurements that are compared to the pressure and acceleration measurements obtained by the sensors of the training gloves. Each training glove may have at least one LED and/or a buzzer that provide feedback to the cheerleaders depending on whether the measured pressures and accelerations meet the target measurements. This allows the cheerleaders to adjust their technique, and thereby perform a cheerleading stunt more safely. The pressure and acceleration measurements may also be transmitted to a coach's device via a transmitter.

  • Patent number: 12213876
Abstract: Apparatuses, systems and methods for providing improved intraocular lenses (IOLs), include features for reducing side effects, such as halos, glare and best focus shifts, in multifocal refractive lenses and extended depth of focus lenses. Exemplary ophthalmic lenses can include a continuous, power progressive aspheric surface based on two or more merged optical zones, the aspheric surface being defined by a single aspheric equation. Continuous power progressive intraocular lenses can mitigate optical side effects that typically result from abrupt optical steps. Aspheric power progressive and aspheric extended depth of focus lenses can be combined with diffractive lens profiles to further enhance visual performance while minimizing dysphotopsia effects. The combination can provide an increased depth of focus that is greater than an individual depth of focus of either the refractive profile or the diffractive profile.

  • Patent number: 12206742
Abstract: A new type of Network Function (NF), referred to as Network Management Function (NMF), is introduced and included in communications network. The NMF implemented in accordance with some embodiments of the invention includes a Network Management Function database (NMFDB) including maintenance mode (MM) flag(s) and control logic for processing received messages from NFs, said control logic using the maintenance mode flag value information in determining which processing operations to perform. The NMF is placed between NFs, which are to be managed by the NMF, and a Network (function) Repository Function (NRF), which includes a typical NRF database which does not include any MM flags. By using the MM flags at the NMF, it is possible to centrally manage the traffic flow and use of individual instances of NFs in the network allowing instances of NFs to be easily taken in and out of service, e.g., as maintenance is required.
