Abstract: Systems, methods and computer-readable media provide a MAC (Media Access Control) address to a device, for example, while the device is on a production line. In response to receiving a signal to initiate a MAC acquisition process, the device connects to a wireless network. A MAC address server within wireless range of the wireless device detects the connection to the wireless. The MAC address server determines an available MAC address and communicates the available MAC address to the device over the wireless network. The device associates the available MAC address as a source MAC address for the device in future communications sessions.
