Abstract: An air-water separator used in a water well upstream of the intake on a submersible pump comprising a collar member positioned between the well casing and the water pipe including a plurality of spring-biased check valves in the collar which allow gravity flow through the collar only after a certain static head of water is built thereabove to allow sufficient time for the air bubbles to separate from the water before intake into the pump.
