Gas is pumped into the proximal end of the tube (30), which inflates the sleeve (36) engaging the inner walls of an airway. The gas, typically a mixture of oxygen, subsequently exits the sleeve (36) and enters the airway. Auxiliary accessories (80) can be attached to the tube (30).

Abstract: A mechanized tourniquet adapted for application in a surgery, emergency or military situation to stop arterial blood loss in an injured limb, which is optionally activated by a user or automatically by detecting therein the free tip of its pressure-applying band. The tourniquet and its electromechanical tension device are automatically controlled by means of the band tension controlling mechanism and a timer initialized by a safety signal.

Abstract: An inspection tube (20) for use in the medical practice, in which sensors, such as a miniature electronic camera, are incorporated in the distal face of the tube. The sensors receive energy supplied via conduits (24, 26, 28) running along the length of the tube, preferably embedded within the wall. Signals of the sensors are transmitted to the rear of the tube where they are fed into receivers. Sensor cleaning can be affected in some embodiments by conducting cleaning agents through a channel in the wall of the tube. An alarm procedure can be affected by comparing sensed pattern with a reference base pattern and defining a critical deviation from the reference base.

Abstract: A device for applying pressure in progression to restrict the blood content of a limb, whereby at least an elastic tight sleeve is unfolded directionally on that limb towards the center of the body. The unfolding is streamlined using at least one auxiliary application strap. In certain embodiments a constricting toroid is used as a major restriction agent.
